What is Korean Age? Why do some Koreans seem "older?"
Korean Age Explained by a Native Korean. Here to answer all your questions about Korean Age and why people suddenly get older when they go to Korea.
Note from Mar. 15, 2023: Turns out I actually spent two years as a 16-year-old as well LOL. I guess there's something with me and square numbers
extra notes i guess:
International Age is 만 나이 (man nai) in Korean. Here, 만 (man) means "to fill up." It's a good description of International Age because people have to "fill up" an entire year (until it's their birthday again) to gain another year.
Year Age is 연 나이 (yeon nai) in Korean. There doesn't seem to be a proper translation of this online, so I just directly translated it into English.
some sources (almost all in korean):
Korean Age: namu.wiki/w/세는나이
Year Age: namu.wiki/w/연%20나이
International Age: namu.wiki/w/만%20나이

Fast Birthdays: namu.wiki/w/빠른%20생일
(i was gonna talk about fast birthdays because it's also related to age, but i figured it would be sort of irrelevant to the whole video, so i didn't end up talking about it. if i did, this would've been the source)
