애프터 스쿨은 타고난 피지컬, 자비없는 연습량으로 다져진 정말 멋있는 그룹이었음. 그래서 지금봐도 감동이 느껴지는듯.

그러게요 제가 학생때 우리 아부지 벨소리는 80년대 가수들 노래였는데 이제 애프터스쿨 노래가 그런 이야기를 듣는다니 격세지감이 느껴지네요 세월이란....

나이차이로만 따지면 나랑 저친구들이 나랑 저친들 부모님보다 더 적게 차이나는데 아는 노래나 작품으로 얘기하면 부모님들이랑 더 얘기 잘할 수 있을듯ㅋㅋㅋㅋ옛날엔 10년이면 강산이 변한댔는데 지금은 1년이면 바껴서 그런가 세대차이가 나이가 적게 차이난다고 안 나는게 아닌거 같음ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

세상에 가희랑 유이가 에프터스쿨이라는걸 모르는 나이가 저 나이때부터구나.. 22살인 나는 어릴때 티비만 틀면 유이랑 가희가 예능 나와서 맨날 응원단장처럼 춤추던거 생각남.. 말그대로 티비만 틀면 어디든 볼수있어서 모를수가 없는구조,, 나랑 나이차이 많이 안나는데도 엪터 데뷔곡을 모를수가 있다는게 신기하넹

the thing that im really proud about the 2nd generation is that the groups are really good at performing with live vocals and the confidence and aura when they are on stage is very powerful.

가희님의 카리스마는 정말 압도적이었죠. 애프터스쿨도 사실상 당시 대표와 가희님이 같이 만들었고 가희님은 이미 가수 데뷔전부터 10년 이상 활동한 실력있는 전문댄서이자 안무가 이기도 했기 때문에 본인의 그룹인 애프터스쿨의 연습은 빡세기로 유명했습니다. 그룹 전체로 볼때 '가창실력이 뛰어난 그룹' 과 같은 평가는 받지 못했을 지라도 걸그룹으로서 가희님이 있던 시절의 애프터스쿨 무대의 '멋있음' 은 정말 압도적이었습니다. 특히나 '뱅!' 에서 그 멋있음은 정말 정점을 찍고 그야말로 폭발했다고 생각해요. 가희님이 있던 시절의 애프터스쿨은 걸그룹으로서 섹시, 큐티, 청순이 아니라 절제되고 카리스마 있는 '멋있음' 으로 매력적일 수 있다는 걸 보여준, 우리나라 걸그룹 역사를 설명할때 꼭 빼먹지 말아야할 중요 레퍼런스들 중 하나라고 생각합니다.

난 처음에 유이가 연기할때 뭔가 어색했는데,, 내 마음 속의 유이는 애프터스쿨.. 지금이야 연기도 많이 하고 연기력도 인정받고 자주 보여서 덜하지만 처음엔 무대에 서있는 유이가 더 익숙했음..

뱅은 진짜 드럼치는것부터 빡세게 연습하고 준비해서 방송나왔는데 음악프로 1주였나 2주였나 하고서 천안함 터져서 모든 음악방송들 반강제 휴식으로 한동안 못한게 진짜 안타까움 드럼퍼포먼스 진짜 멋있었는데

Even younger korean know 2nd gen and 3rd gen. The problem is with new international fans that are coming to kpop just for the very hyped and most popular groups and the korean wave. They don't care about the genre they just want to be trandy and that's all. Of course not all but many.

After School are awesome! They are definitely the benchmark for modern kpop. Kahi - Bekah - Jungah are the OG main line (dancer - rapper - vocal). Kahi actually was a backup dancer in the 2000s for BoA, Lexy, Chaeyeon etc. She's got crazy experience and charisma! Bekah is the American rapper and she was my bias back then! Nana was the visual and Raina and Jungah's lines were always top class.

This video just proves how terrible their management company is. How on earth can people recognize so many songs, but not know who the artists are? All of the groups in that company are SO talented (Nu'est, Seventeen, Pristin, Orange Caramel), but nowhere near as well-known as they could be/could have been. I'm happy that Nu'est and Seventeen have been able to keep themselves at the A level, but if their company continues the way it has been, I worry for their future. It's already too late for After School and Pristin - they should have been much bigger than they were :(

after school was big. the only reason they dont know after school is because they're of a new generation, after school is a 2nd generation group and isn't active anymore so although their songs still plays everywhere but a lot of people of younger generation now wouldn't know the group

지금처럼 비주얼 특히 얼굴에만 특화된 아이돌이 아니었음.. 저 때가 가장 실력적인 부분을 중요하게 생각했고 지금처럼 카메라가 아닌 무대위의 열정적인 모습을 보여주는게 훨씬 중요했음.. 그래서 아이돌(우상) 이라는 명성에 맞게 무대를 보고있으면 저런 열정으로 나도 정말 열심히 살아야겠다는 생각까지 들었음.. 지금은.... 걍 예쁜비주얼과 대형기획사에서 돈 들이부은 음원으로 빌보드 올라가는데만 급급한.. 😢

늘은 아니고 간혹 봤는데 재밌네요. 그녀들은 K-POP의 한 획을 긋는 영웅이죠. 다른 그룹과 같이 모든 분들이 성공하지 못했고 수 많은 고난으로 힘들었지만 우리의 기억 속에 영원이 존재한다는 걸 잊지 말았으면 좋겠습니다. 지금 들어도 좋네요. 아가들도 응원합니다!

유이 꿀벅지 생각나네 막 사춘기 지나가고 있는 시절이었는데 TV에서 유이 처음 보는 순간 머리속이 번쩍하면서 마른 여자가 예쁜거라는 고정 관념이 싹 바껴버림 그때부터 길쭉하고 튼튼해 보이는 여자들을 좋아하기 시작함 ㅎㅎ

The girl confused Uee with Sohee xD Fair because they have very similar faces. COmparisons were often made back then. Because of You was HUGE in SK. It was almost as big as Gee in fact. After School is one of the few groups ever in Kpop to dip their feet in SO many styles. They've done pole dancing to tap dancing. Very rare in Kpop. A reunion comeback (like a new song) is a must!

Gee is alooot bigger. They won 9 times only and music bank. And those days, music show wins really represent how popular the song are. From melon downloads, public streaming. Etc.. no song came near Gee

Even predebut, UEE got a lot of attention because she looked like an adult Sohee, and this was when Wonder Girls was at the top, and Sohee was THE IT girl. UEE was supposed to debut with Yubin in another group, and Yubin brought her to a variety/talk show as her best friend. That's how she was basically introduced as Sohee's look-a-like.

@@franceseericanavarro6998 I'm a Korean and I think Nana is popular in Korea. Not super popular but she is filming movie or drama sequentially. She just finished airing the drama "Oh! Master" and filming a new Netflix drema "Glitch" now. And New movie "Confess" is waiting for premier. And Her drama "Genesis" is now airing in Korea. She is really busy actor. Just they are too young to remember Nana.

I FEEL SO PROUD that afterschool had a comeback moment...i think I have to give it to SEUNGKWAN of SVT for his highly praised love and devotion to his label mates!! Also, yes Uee as a singer seems so foreign now as she's now as a actress..but I'll never forget "BECAUSE OF YOU" that was my ringtone too!! URGH OG Kpop noona here :P Uee debut drama was "You're Beautiful" please check that out if you haven't seen it :P

개인적으로 뱅 활동을 오래 못한 게 아쉬움, 컨셉 신선하고 칼 군무에 정말 흥이 나는 노래였고 반응도 좋았는데 당시 천안함 침몰 사건으로 사회 분위기에 맞물려 일찍 활동을 접음 여러모로 나쁜놈들...ㅜㅜ

i always assumed the extra skills sets such as tap dance, pole dance, marching drum-band they learned were like some sort of extracurricular concept in response to their group name AFTER SCHOOL....Because usually AFTER official SCHOOL hours you have extracurricular activities...and a student can acquire new skill sets joining extracurricular clubs..

To be fair, their concepts and style was very off brand from AS. I don't think anyone would have known they were an AS subunit if they weren't told. Heck, I was surprised too when I found out and I discovered them at debut.

After School was the first korean group that had three no1 songs with their first three songs. Nobody else had done that (I think Blackpink was the first group that did it again)

저때 유이 디바때 합류하며 중딩때까지 수영선수였다고 해서 예능에서 워터파크가면 수영 실력보여주며 복근 자랑해서 이때부터 건강 미인이 좋다라는 말이 생김 그리고 에프터스쿨 가희님과 30넘은 맴버들 나가고 2기체체되니 오렌지카라멜 멤버들 제외하고 안무 숙지 게판난거 주간아이돌 렌덤 댄스에서 들킴

After School did so much concept Drums,Tap Dance and Pole dancing. Up to this point no one has done much efforts to bring new music concepts in big broadcast stations m. They’re the reason why South Koreans have more positive view on pole dancing right now aw it should be.

The girls got so hurt from that though. They had cuts and bruises, and both lizzy and raina got hurt at different times during promoting. I don't think it would be worth relearning when they got hurt from it so bad
