I like that you used a typical inexpensive cookie press instead of a fancy one, I think it makes the recipe feel more accessible and it's cool to see a standard tool being used

I love Maanchi ❤ I met my Korean husband 9 years ago in Japan without knowing much about Korea or Korean food. We moved to Korea for a while, and eventually moved to my home country of Sweden. We have barely any Korean restaurants here, and the ones claiming to be Korean are everything but that. My husband wanted 집밥, I started craving it too! Now, a few years later I bought all of Maangchi's books, I can make almost anything my husband and I want. And! My mother in law is so proud of me. I even cook Korean for my Swedish family, such as my niece and nephew and they love it. Thank you, lovely Maangchi ❤❤❤

@@Maangchi I'm curious, is the Dasik a Korean version of a Moon Cake?
@user-nm7nl5jh2j
@user-nm7nl5jh2j 2 жыл бұрын
@@JadenYukifan28 No, they're completely different! Dasik are bite-sized confectionaries made by clumping roasted powdered ingredients (usually seeds or rice as Maangchi used) with sweeteners, neither baked nor stuffed with fillings. The only thing they have in common would be the pressed engravings.

I tried this with the almond flour I left in the fridge after making cookies. Since I don't have a mold, I lined a plastic water bottle cap with clingfilm and pressed the mixture inside. The roasted almond flour is quite nutty in flavor & almost gives a slightly chewy texture mixed with the honey. It's incredibly moreish - I'm sad that it only yielded nine pieces because I have to share this with my mom and my brother LOL. Will try the glutinous rice flour version as well, maybe with some green tea powder or cinnamon.

I made this with almond powder and matcha(green tea powder)! almond one was great 😋, but matcha one was too bitter to eat 😭 I used my cookie cutter and silicon mold both of them work perfectly. I also tried to shape the cookie with my hand and put it in the refrigerator(wrapped with plastic wrap) it worked too.

It sounds great! If you use matcha, I think you should mix it with rice flour or starch to dilute the strong color plus bitter taste.

and if you don't have rice flour you can grind up oats really fine and toast that, and if you don't have honey can use corn syrup
@natascharank5604
@natascharank5604 2 жыл бұрын
@@nazgul9448 hm, hm, yes, that's right, I could get honey. About the oats I am not so sure, as they don't contain any gluten to stick together. If I could use it in my cooking regularly, I could order the glutenous rice flour and pay the shipping price for a larger amount. Anyway, at the moment switching to regular Korean cooking in Germany (that's where I live) is completely out of the budget. It is not very common here, maybe in Berlin, but that's quite some distance from here. Luckily Maangchi has some recipes that work quite well with the ingredients I can get easily around here, such as the potatoe pancake (especially love that, it is so crispy) and anything with eggs and rice. Should you happen to make these cookies, have one for me, will you :) In the meantime, I am happy using "sesame oil" and some carrots "for the colour" to get some good Maangchi spirit into my daily food^^

I had brought this kind of moulds from Malaysia but didn’t knew the exact use, now I am definitely going to make some healthy, fancy cookies How intelligent and thoughtful our ancestors were that they designed it in such a way that it’s attractive, healthy and most important small portions Thanks 🙏

If you bought moulds like this from Malaysia (or any South Eastern Asian country), then it's most likely used in a similar idea to this recipe but uses tapioca starch. Malaysian version (Kuih Bangkit) has eggs, while the Vietnamese version (Banh Phuc Linh) has identical ingredients to the Malaysian version but without the egg so it doesn't need to go into the oven after it's been moulded and it's vegan friendly.

Hello Maangchi! I asked you if you could make a dasik video a few years ago. I am so glad that you made it now! Thanks so much -- I will have to look for a dasik mold now.
