OSSC has always gone out of their way to touch on topics that aren't typically discussed esp. in Korea, & I'm really glad that the topic of SA was chosen to be discussed.

I wish you guys discussed the sentencing that the perpetrators received because I know it’s really different from what someone would receive in South Korea.

The thing that pissed me off the most with the Nassar case (2nd guy who was the US Olympics “doctor”) was that an athlete reported she was abused by him to the the police or FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) and a local FBI office failed horribly in handling the case that nothing happened earlier that could have prevented many more victims. (They did an over the phone interview with a young sex assault victim and then did nothing with the information). Also with the Epstein case he was on suicide watch then somehow he was put back in his cell, the security cameras didn’t work and the guards who were supposed to check on him were either asleep or just never checked. I believe a good portion of people believe he was killed because he knew who did horrible things with him which included powerful people so they killed him in a discreet way to hide their involvement.

I was born into an abusive family and more than one person abused me and the abuse was all the kinds of abuse you can think of not just sexual, I grew up knowing nothing else but abuse, yes I told many, many times but was never rescued, I was punished severely by my abusers for telling, I was also sent from one abusive house to another, this was all family members, never once was I safe. The system failed me and so did my own so called family

Statistically speaking, if the women on this channel were North American, at least one of them would be a victim of sexual abuse of some sort. I assume that even fewer women in South Korea report being sexually assaulted, than women in the West do. This, along with police apathy, makes the true nature of South Korea's sex crimes numbers impossible to know.

Most of my friends have been victims since before we even turned 14. I think most women have some stories or know another woman close to them that's been through it. As another note I would just like to say that i acknowledge that anyone (bc of the whole man vs woman argument) can be a victim. SA happens bc of horrible people.

I'm from the city where the first story took place. The perpetrator ended up killing himself one month into his prison sentence and the house where the girls were held was demolished. One of the girls, Amanda Berry, is on the local news regularly and helps find lost children now.

I lived in Korea for three years while working with the Korean Police. This should never happen to anyone in any country. In America, the MeToo movement encourages the reporting of these sexual crimes where in the past they would not. It needs to be reported, acted upon and stopped. Unfortuantely, from my experiences working with the Korean police, Korean women still had a difficult time trying to report these crimes. It may be due to the Korean culture where they treat women differently. Just my opinion. Maybe a topic for your next video.

It's comforting that they find it as horrific as I do and that even tho its not reported or spoken much in Korea at least they still see how horrific it is

I am proud of this channel. While other channels have very shallow content, OSSC shows our South Korean friends deep, real topics on both the good and bad sides. Some of us know that in SK it is a very difficult subject but that is not why it has to be hidden. Someone has to bring it up and OSSC as always does it in an amazing way.

In the first case, the saddest part of it is that Amanda Berry's mother went to Sylvia Brown's psychic show and asked if her daughter's alive. She was told that she's dead. She died before Amanda was rescued.

The jeffery epstein case goes way deeper than that. Because there are so many big names involved in that trafficking ring with all those minors. There is a long list of well known people involved. Once you start looking into it, it’s basically like going into a rabbit hole of evilness, disgusting acts, etc…

Gosh I remember watching that first documentary years ago(I usually watch crime documentaries when I have free time and this documentary is the most memorable one). The suspect was so disgusting. He acted like a decent neighbor when he literally abduct 3 teenagers, kept and abused them for 10 years.

The true crime reactions always fascinate me. I love to hear the opinions and thoughts of yall. If I may recommend a sort of taboo content for reaction, I say a band named SKYND. SKYND is a band that creates music based on True Crime. They don't go into too much depth of cases, so research may be needed, but it's interesting.

It has taken me a long time to watch this video because of the subject matter being so infuriating, so I applaud you for making it through filming of this episode

It was painful to watch this. I am always glad that OSSC goes the extra mile to talk about current and real things and explain how it would be perceived/accepted in SK. I was abused by my own father for years. He is dead now. You never forget. My mother wouldn't have him arrested because she didn't want me to testify so people would know. That was in the late 70's and things weren't like they are now...

The first one is why I will never trust bus drivers. Everyone I've ever told about my fear of a bus driver kidnapping me thought I was crazy for it. Bus drivers know where you live and can easily come to your house and kidnap you. When I was little I was afraid of being the last kid off the bus because I was scared my school bus driver would kidnap me... It's a legitimate fear and people should take it more seriously because if a child of mine or somebody else's that I knew got kidnapped my first thought in my head is gonna be "the bus driver did it"

The worst is that some victims took their own lives and some will never get the justice because a lot of cowards are involved in this

I hope one day, South Korea and other countries will progress enough that women and men who are abused or sexually assaulted or harassed won’t be afraid to stand up and say what happened. I hope that they will be able to have the courage to get their own justice in the legal system and not have to worry about social stigma. Society should recognize and protect those who are hurt. They should be supported. Not hidden and too afraid to get help from fear of ramifications back on themselves. How many sexual abusers are able to take multiple victims because they know they won’t talk? How many children, teens, and adults of any gender carry around the pain of having gone through these things with no comfort from their loved ones?

As a former gymnast who has been to the ranch a few times I’m so glad I never saw Dr. Nassar smh

Many victims don't come forward because society judges them. Even judges ask "what were you wearing," as if that means it's ok. Then you have light sentences that don't truly punish the person... Brock Turner was found guilty in the middle of doing it to an unconscious woman. The judge had went to Brocks college so I don't know how it wasn't a conflict of interest. Brock was sentenced to 6 months but got out after only 2 months of prison. A few months ago, think in January? A man was found guilty of doing it to 4 girls. The judge gave 0 prison time. Only parole. Like wtf...

I hope they react as well to the Jaycee Lee Dugard case and to the Joseph Fritzl abuse case.

They need to react to the crimes of their own country, I have and believe me things are much… MUCH worse.
