Korg Volca FM ~ do I need the new one?

Күн бұрынFired up my "original" Volca FM again to convince myself that I don't need the new one. 3 more voices, a built-in reverb, and a new display, hard to advertise the old one any more. So I used the NTS-1 to give it reverb, sysex'd some random patches, and was good to get going with this old friend (was actually one of my first synth's).

There are two things i wish they had on the Volca's . First the possibility to transpose octaves and second a pattern chain function.

If you can make something this beautiful with the Volca FM, you need the new one to make it epic. Lovely what you did here. What was the role of the external sequencer combined with the one in the FM?

The external sequencer is for the NTS1, which accompanies the FM here. The main reason the the NTS1 in this patch is because it has some nice effects on board, which you can also use standalone.
