Kosambari | Healthy Moong dal cucumber salad south Indian style | Hesaru bele kosambari. Healthy, tasty and easy to prepare. Perfect accompaniment to any meal. One of the staple dishes during festivals like Ramnavami. Preparation time less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients -
For salad -
1. ½ cup moong dal
2. ½ cup cucumber
3. ½ cup coriander leaves
4. 1/3 cup grated coconut
5. 3 green chillies
6. ½ - ¾ tsp salt
7. ½ lemon juice
For Tempering -
1. 1 tsp ghee or oil
2. ½ tsp mustard seeds
3. 1 red chilli
4. 8-10 curry leaves
5. ¼ tsp asafetida

Chalukya hotel in Bangalore used to make this and i used to love it. I didn't even know what this was called. Going to try this. Thanks for making this video

I am from Hyderabad, when we were in Bangalore in my childhood days we used to eat this salad in our kannada friends functions. Still I remember the taste of it. So many times I searched in youtube for this salad but I couldn't find as I am not aware of the name of the salad and finally now I can find it in your channel. Tq so much for the recipe.

Shakir Hussain boiled moong dal gets a slimy paste like consistency. So do not boil it. If you want, you can soak it in hot water.

You can omit coconut. It’s a very versatile recipe - you can add some other things you like instead - example grated carrot, pomegranate, etc. Mix and match to your taste 😊
