Join special guest host Samm Levine as he sits down with actor/director Saul Rubinek (Unforgiven, Cruel But Necessary). Saul shares the unbelievable story of his family's journey to America. And yes, he also talks about Warehouse 13.

Saul Rubinek is an unbelievably under rated actor. Brilliant mind and just is what an actor is at heart.

Stephen Tobolowsky is, far and away, the most engaging and best storyteller of the 237 guests. I KNEW Saul Rubinek would rival him! Saul is one of the Great "that guy from that thing" actors whose ACTUAL life is more interesting than any stories from Hollywood they could tell. An instant classic!!!

My favorite actors are the ones that can play lovable goofballs, slimy weasels and despicable bad guys. Saul rubinek does all of them with masterful skill. The first time I saw him perform was in a film about deprogramming cult members. It was so long ago but he's the only actor I really remembered from the film because he was so charismatic. A spectacular performer. Bravo!

Absolutely riveting. Saul's stories are immensely interesting, much to do with his way of telling them. Although Samm is obviously quite knowledgable about what Saul is talking about, he never interrupts Saul. Great interview.

TheTuubster Yeah, I saw him on Star Trek for the first time and he stole the show. He made me forget it was Star Trek and think that somehow the genre had been elevated. Just something about that performance that was unforgetable. And If I could sum up Star Trek the Next generation in Two names, John De Lancie would be the second.

Praveen Sawh It's because he is a computer generated hologram idiot. Everyone knows that all the guests on this show are WAY too busy to actually show up and be interviewed by these two douche bags! Every once in a while Kevin Pollak actually books a gig, giving his adopted midget son a chance to ask some pseudo celebrity holograms a few awful questions. In closing, Sam Levine's beard looks like a 1970s porn stars vagina crawled onto his face! Good day to you sir!

Remarkably well conducted interview. Truly impressed. Rubinek would have been a fascinating guest no matter who interviewed him, but Samm Levine was masterful. I don't believe that anyone else would have been capable of drawing as many fascinating anecdotes and details from Saul as Samm did. Bravo. (But I also agree with other reviewers. Check the audio levels next time!)

Saul Rubinek was born in a refugee camp in Germany, where his father ran a Yiddish Repertory Theatre company. Saul started his professional career as a child actor in theater and radio in Canada. By the time he was 20, he was a member of the Stratford Shakespearean Festival company in Stratford, Ontario and, later, was a co-founder, actor and director of Theatre Le Hibou, Theatre Passe-Muraille and Toronto Free Theatre. He got his early training in film and television as an actor for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Saul started working in the United States as an actor at the Public Theater in New York. Rubinek's work on U.S. and Canadian television, film and theater spans four decades. In 1997, Rubinek directed his first feature for Lionsgate, based on the play he previously directed, Jerry and Tom (1998). He also was producer on the film in partnership with his wife, Elinor Reid. The film was an official entry in competition at Sundance in 1998. He also directed the features _Club Land (2001) (TV)_ and _Bleacher Bums (2001) (TV)_ for Showtime/Paramount. Rubinek directed, and his wife and partner Elinor Reid produced the award-winning indie film Cruel But Necessary (2005). Penguin Books published (1987) Rubinek's non-fiction book, "So Many Miracles", an account of his parents' survival growing up in Poland during World War II. He wrote and produced an award-winning documentary (1988) of the same title, So Many Miracles (1987), for CBC and PBS which chronicles his parents' reunion with the people who saved their lives during the Holocaust. The DVD of the documentary is available from The National Center for Jewish Film at Brandeis University. Rubinek wrote the play "Terrible Advice", which was produced in 2011 in London by The Chocolate Factory.
