They won’t. SM doesn’t disband groups. They’ll slowly stop doing group stuff, but technically still be a group.

I'm not even carat but even i admit that are they golden group of kpop. All 13 members in this group are crazy and the collective charm of seventeen is just ✨ No matter what music direction they take, they literally make it theirs and it is so natural. Like they know what they want. It's crazy. A self-produced group fr. They need to be around for next 20 yrs.

I wonder how long of a contract they signed when they renewed with Pledis? I'm just glad they'll continue on! They're one of the best groups in k-pop. All we have to do now is get through enlistment because unfortunately S.Coups & Jeonghan's time to enlist is coming...😭

I personally hope that SHINee never disband. Their discography is one of the best in all of Kpop, they bring something new to the table whenever they have a Comeback and most importantly all of of them are exceptionally talented. Kpop simply wouldn't be the same anymore without them..

I need Dreamcatcher to last more than 7 years. Preferably more than 10. The fact that they've stuck with their sound since their debut as DC and have stuck with it, a genre that's barely seen at all in K-Pop let alone from a girl group, is similar to how you feel about SNSD for me. (Yeah, I'm already waiting for Forever 2... which if it's for their 20th anniversary for SNSD, should definitely be called Forever 2O (pronounced like Forever Two Oh!)

Twice, They genuinely make me happy. Their songs just make me wanna get up & dance ( even tho I'm bad at it lol ), they make me cry when i need it, they make me feel better about myself & are like happy pills for me. Their discography is a roller coaster of emotions & now I wonder how was my life before I discovered them. Ofc they're alot of other groups that I love & don't want them to disband. But Twice are too special to me. Anyways, I'll be upset when my fav groups disband but not heartbroken cuz I know it's bound to happen :')

I hope Exo never disbands. They are the group that got me into kpop and I love how they never followed trends. Also their superpowers concept can last for as long as they want to keep the group active so we can always have interesting ideas for their future comebacks

SHINee I think are at the point in their careers where they're unlikely to disband, it makes me so happy - then again, SM's groups don't really disband lol. But seriously, it would be so nice to see more "legacy" kpop groups, especially for girl groups. It's so hard to see them stay together during the normal 7 year contract period, let alone being active as a full group after their contracts expire. That's why all the 2nd/3rd gen groups reuniting (Kara, EXID, Girls Generation, etc) feel so special.

For me EXO this is the group that got me into K-pop way back in 2012 I've been a fan of them for 10 years and just like suho said I hope they be together for 20 years. 30 years. Forever EXO is the most humble group I've ever seen they know how popular they are but they're more into pushing the whole world of K-pop to new countries and that's what I love about them along with their music and that personalities and their Brotherhood. SM entertainment groups need to stay together in general best music in my opinion

I honestly disagree with Blackpink. With the exception of Rosé, none of the members seems passionate about music at all. Jisoo is more into acting, Jennie into fashion and Lisa into dancing (which is still connected to music, but not really the part you can actually enjoy without visual input). They might have written some lyrics here and there, but BP songs aren't really known to be lyrical masterpieces (Pink Venom didn't make any sense), and if they were actually passionate about music, they most definitely wouldn't be content with the amount of songs they are putting out. I could obviously be wrong and they could renew their contract under the condition that they get more creative contol and more frequent releases, but I kinda doubt that's what's gonna happen. As far as I'm concerned, the group is holding the individual members back from their actual interests (and I'm saying this with a heavy heart, cause I adored their releases upto 2018 & also love LSG).

I agree, because musically BP has a lot to do more, but i think BP was simply a "prettier than 2ne1" group that people cannot accept (including me) because its deragatory to both groups. And it just seems they're into the modelling line and music is just a side career that supports their lavish lifestyle. Even though I started kpop with Blackpink, their music stands as monotonous, despite having some of the best vocal tones. They definitely wont leave until YG finds a much more powerful group, but I don't think they'll ever change the current comfortable pace.

I agree, I'm so disappointed in how bp turned out. I remember seeing their trainee vids and being amazed at their skill but we've never gotten that version of them. I find their music sounds the same and a bit dated.. I feel the members have moved on from bp as well i don't feel the fire when I see them perform.

They are happy being models but remember Jennie's dream was to become a singer same as Rosé and Lisa they are just being held back. If they have a better co. who will treat them better than YG who's making bp cb whenever his company is going down (basically using bp and Blinks☹️) We haven't seen the girls real potential at this point. Jennie is a better producer (she has good lyricst), Rosé as a singer, I don't know Lisa; they just need practice AGAIN. I heard/read Bang Yedam is learning more about music, bp should do the same because the one who's suffering is BLINKs (they don't have enough content, they don't have enough songs to listen to ☹️)

Twice disbanding is definitely not something I want to think about. They weren't my first group and they're not even one of my ult groups but still. I totally agree with what you said about GOT the beat, I didn't like the song either but the whole idea of the group still sounds very promising to me. I also like the idea of SuperM but I'm personally not a huge fan of their music so yeah. SuperM is not the same thing but still, they're another example of a group where I like the idea of them but I'm not a fan of their music. Astro always being reliable with their new releases is so true, they don't experiment that much so you'll never get any jumpscares from their comebacks. I would say that in general, bands also don't tend to release any jumpscares. I don't listen to every single k-band out there but as far as I know, there isn't that much experimenting when compared to other artists. Something that would be interesting to see would be "Kpop groups that should have stayed for longer", it's already been mentioned but still. Basically talking about groups you miss or groups you would've wanted to see more of. Personally I really miss Imfact even if they weren't super active towards the end. I also wish we would have seen more from the band Purple rain. I get that there are reasons why groups disband but that doesn't mean I don't miss any disbanded groups.

I just realized something and i want to talk abt it. Yk how seventeen signed their contract. They have 13 members with such strong charms and visions of their own. Like iykyk But despite that their leader scoups managed to make such a team that wants to stand by each other's side forever. They really made an important decision and i can see how good scoup is as a leader of 12 members. Bro there's a reason why seventeen is successful. Their leader is so great. Their producers and writers (members) don't lack at all. Their variety shows skills are through the roof. They filled with amazing charms. If they disband then I'm disbanding my life. Plz they are the ace of kpop with the most kpopiest discography ever. Btw I'm not am carat just a casual listener. I just wanted to show my appreciation for scoups. That's it.❤️

A big fax with SEVENTEEN. I feel like they would grow more and serve more bops and I think that they deserve more recognition and awards more than what they have now. Also, SEVENTEEN has a lot of iconic things that only them could pull it perfectly like the iconic Going Seventeen and the Most Synchronize Kpop Groups. And if they disband then it would be really devastating af and I would probably can't find another group that I will stan and love other than SVT, I'll probably end up being only a casual listener of kpop and not more than that.

I just want to say THANK YOU for not bashing BLACKPINK. Most of the k-pop channels on here do it every single time they talk about BP. Especially if they are part of of 3 very specific fandoms. Their videos are NOT "constructive criticism" like they claim, it's just BLATANT hate. So once again, thank you. A lot of the criticism they receive is due to YG's crappy management of them. It's not their fault they don't have more songs or more frequent comebacks. The girls try to push for more creative freedoms, more self-written/produced songs & frequent comebacks but YG makes the final decision at the end of the day. I don't see them disbanding, so if/when they do renew their contracts, I pray they negotiate to have more say in what they do, the songs they create, the producers they work with, etc. as a group.

After this year's fanmeeting, I'm pretty confident Astro won't be disbanding. However, now that their military years have started we'll be seeing a lot more solo/subunit schedules. Their contract ends Feb 23, 2023, and Aroha are anxiously waiting for their decision.

I know we never want our favorite groups to disband but renewing contracts are a really tough and complicated process like seventeen said... Seventeen atleast according to me is one of the closest groups ever as close as family and eventhough they all wanted to continue as seventeen and renew their contracts together it was still tough for them, so please keep on supporting your groups even if they end up not renewing as a lot of stuff goes behind the scenes which most of us are unaware of and it takes more than the wish of renewing to actually renew and stay in the company/group

the only groups I've truly "stanned" in my life are BTS and TXT. you can say I'm a multi fan but I stan only BTS and TXT. BTS got me into kpop in 2018 and I've been a fan of them since then and I'm really thankful to them and respect them for introducing me to myself. I might sound cliche but they made me believe in myself and love myself the way I'm. i used to be insecure of so many things before but now i know that nothing's wrong in accepting myself the way I'm. they taught me that self love isn't selfish, it's important. you can't be honest with someone when you aren't honest with yourself. I don't want to imagine the day they'd disband but I respect them and love ,not because I'm obsessed with them or something, because they made me ME. they'll always have a special place in my heart for making me accept myself and love myself. TXT were the first group I stanned after BTS and I've never regretted once. their music is one of a kind. like their discography is so diverse yet the quality of their music never falters in fact it keeps on getting better and better. if BTS made me accept myself then TXT made me realize how important self confidence is. i really don't want to experience their disbandment but then again I'm just someone who's inspired by their music. it's gonna be their decision and I'll respect them. I'm a fan of many groups but after TXT and BTS, the group I'm most interested in is twice and I was so glad they renewed their contract. they make some of the most refreshing and catchy songs in kpop and I am one of those people who were attracted to their diversity of concepts. every, EVERY concept suits them. i guess their disbandment is gonna hurt more than i imagine....

Completely agree! I discoverred TXT from my spotify recs & for the longest time I didn't knew that BTS & TXT were from the same damn company ( calling me dumb is an understatement ). TXT has definitely put good music on the table uptill now. While many say their success is solely cuz of them being BTS's jr, they've made their own musical identity & are capable of bringing in fans. Sure they may have gotten success a little sooner but it was destined their way.

I agree with you on K/DA, so far the music from that project has been incredible & the fact that the singers behind the avatars actually do get recognition is why I think you can consider K/DA as the blueprint for virtual groups. Also the fact that it provides an easy solution to making an East-West supergroup - if you can’t have all the idols in one place at the same time, or sometimes certain idols can’t participate because they’re busy, it’s fine because they don’t even need to physically be there! And if the voice of a character changes from song to song, it’s okay because the character itself is still the same (and then more artists get the opportunity to show off their voices)! Plus, the artists probably get compensated really well! I have no interest in LoL itself but I would love if they used a portion of their massive profits to continue to fund K/DA.

They should ABSOLUTELY disband because YG won’t do anything with them and the girls deserve better than doing the exact same song over and over again. I will be SHOCKED if all four, if any of them, stay with YG. I would be shocked if Jisoo stayed in music because she seems to enjoy acting more. And I can’t with this narrative that the only people who want that are “haters”. Honestly, I liked BP pre-D4. By then, Blinks were unbearable. They are easily the worst fandom. You can’t criticize or even dislike a song but like the girls or like other songs by them without Blinks telling you how you’re “a hater” and it’s ridiculous. I agree with alot of these choices. Everything you said about Blackpink is exactly how I feel. I feel there's this thin veil they haven't crossed through yet that would really let their artistry blossom. I hope when their renewals happen, the girls get what they want (better pay, more control over schedules, more frequent comebacks) and are able to fully apply themselves to the group while also keeping their solo careers intact. A group I would want to add are EXO. These guys have been through so much, especially really early on in their careers. Yet, here they are, still standing. Obviously they haven't been super active as they once were due to miltary enlistments and political tensions still hanging around, but it is clear as day that the members want to remain together as long as possible. Even if they aren't under the same company anymore (i.e., Lay). I mean, Chen has his own family now, and he's still participating in group activities and is about to make his long awaited solo comeback! So, it seems that having families and settling down won't be stopping them from releasing music as group or as soloists. I just hope we can have one more group comeback before Kai and Sehun enlist (and maybe a Sehun solo album? And Chanyeol too!). Will they release music as frequently as the used to? Probably not. But they will come back together when the time is right to do so, and EXO-Ls will be there right beside them.

I honestly listen to whatever groups I find to be interesting music wise but I never truly stanned a group other then BTS, like I will be absolutely heartbroken when they disband, as corny as it sounds, these 7 guys basically raised me, I found them in 2014 when I was only 14, and they were the greatest role models I could've asked for, my teenage years were so happy and optimistic thanks to those guys, I'll always respect and have a soft spot for them no matter what.

I wish with all my Kpop heart, which is not much these days, that people would not forget the talent that is Red Velvet. One of the biggest reasons I lost the love for Kpop, out with the talent and in with whatever “looks” better. It’s full of non talent that’s brushed up, tweaked, adjusted in a package and made to look shiny. Forget they can’t sing as long as they look good. So much true wasted talent. Some on your list, surely deserve to be on this list, but too bad you missed some legends.

as cliche as it sounds and im sure half the kpop communtity are sick of hearing it, i hope bts never disband. they were my first kpop group (well, technically blackpink was but i didnt fully stan) and i literally cannot even begin to imagine what my life would look like now if i had never got into them. now that im a lot deeper into the kpop world than i was at the start and dont have time to keep up with everyone, i dont watch all bts' content or listen to them that much, but they will always be such a comfort to me. when i was in school i used to take their photocards into my exams and i still take them when im anxious about stuff. i listen to their music when im sick or anxious and watch old nostalgic compilations when im sad or tired. the thought of there being a last bts performance or video with ot7 gets me too emotional.

I think there is a part in all of us that doesn't want any of our favorite groups to disband. But, if it ever got to the point where a group has grown up and wants to live their lives in a different way or pursue different things, then I'd respect their decision. I'd be sad for sure, but I would always be grateful for the music they shared with us that I could always go back to💕

The way I'm praying K/DA has new music soon😭 It's not even just the concept. I'm not joking when I say that More and Popstar are super high on my list of favorite songs considering how many songs I've listened to. I don't play LoL but with K/DA and Arcane (the Netflix show they made if you didn't know. Highly recommend.) they definitely have my attention for a very long time.
