So in other words if Justin was given that composition in particular, the song will be completely different and the name wouldn't even be "euphoria ". Lmao definitely since way earlier. Seo taiji was influenced by and took his style from western hiphop/black culture and metal. He even said it himself. K music has always been heavily influenced by western culture and music and that's just a fact tbh. Although among the years the k mysic industry has started developing and adding their own elements to what they took from.(to clarify, this is not any hate or bashing towards the kpop/khh industry. I just know some people will take it the wrong way.)

He has a very successful solo career as well. In korea they call him the president of culture. Everyone was influenced by him in some way. Everyone looks up to him. Himself as well as the group he was in(seo taiji and boys) started what SK called a "revolution". Breaking barriers with "new" styles and genre's of music and speaking out with his music against conformity and the very manufactured and clean cut style and idealistic image you see in kpop today. Even in his KZfaq description though it says, or used to say, that he took heavy influence and ideas from the western music culture and implemented that into his own music and image. His nu metal music was heavily similar to and influenced from bands like Korn. So essentially, kpop has always taken styles and pieces of culture etc etc from the west. But they also started adding their own twist to it as well over the years. I really like seo taiji though, especially his metal music.

Since always. Kpop came from the west, and their production started to improve quality wise ,( instead of being outdated compare to the west ) when they started to get western producers engineers.

theetaurus actually it wasn't in the quality and dated point of view but if you like it more that style that was literally western music in the 90- 2000s it's up to you. The thing that they did had and still do , it's that they allow more mxing of styles, so the producers feel more "free" to experiment rather than do the same style throughout the song like western side ( cuz that style tend to sell more in the west ).

Most kpop producers are actually american/foreigners, there are big korean producers, that are signed to or work exclusively for a label, that have been around for decades (like Teddy for YG for example) but that's pretty much it

Yep. Zara larsson was one of the composers for more and more sung by twice. Jon bellion was one of the main producers for Rosé's solo album. Many kpop songs have been written by, produced, or composed by a westerner. To fans, the different countries may seem so far apart but in reality the music industry is all interconnected much closer than we think. Shit, kpop and khiphop, kmusic in general has always taken influence and style from the west.

I’m so glad they did away with the awful auto-tune effect when they finally released it though. If anything, delaying it saved the song because of that. I’m glad it was released after that trend died but it’s a shame that 2NE1 didn’t get to release it. I do think Blackpink did it justice though.

Cube has a history of abandoning a group the second they don't meet the numbers they wanted or has a scandal.

They are experimenting with diverse music. Of course they can't just used the same prod all the time. They varied from ballad to pop.
