Who said anything about Aretha Franklin having an "opera voice?" She was not a trained opera singer and the whole world knows that, and so did she! However, she doesn't lose any points for that in my book. In fact, she earns MAJOR points. She further substantiates the fact, that she is the most versatile singer in the history of American recorded music! For her to sing Nessun Dorma in Pavarotti's key at the Grammys, with only minutes to prepare, further illustrates that she is the G.O.A.T.!!! Not to mention, that a superstar of her stature singing Opera, more than likely, exposed some people to the beauty and dynamism of Opera, which might've allowed them to become fans. or have in interest in Opera and Classical music. That in itself, to some degree, can possibly give some vitality to a genre of music, that unfortunately is on life support!
