I and my family were in Cracow last week for 3 days. Very clean and charming city. Poles are gentle people. The expansive park behind the square and across the Wawel Hill was a welcome respite to cool down. Hope that you didn't miss out on the Wieliczka Salt Mine in the outskirts of the city.

@@InternetDirector I've been to the West and believe me, no, haha. People know almost nothing about Poland (there are exceptions) and they say such nonsense about us that I cried with laughter more than once. The West seems to me much stupider than us, less educated, because in Poland we have a good awareness of Europe and not only Europe, I don't know, maybe it's due to some ignorance. Honestly, I don't care at all, we don't need the Wild West here.

What a stark contrast from SE Asia! Even though KL looks pretty well developed and also where you were in Singapore, the architecture in Europe definitely gives a different vibe. Having the opportunity to "live" in both worlds plus many more makes me wonder why anyone would ever want to remain in one location all their lives. You two make me laugh. It's entertaining to watch one of you, mainly Brian, say he did or saw something, then immediately hear Carrie tell us the truth of the matter. As far as I'm concerned, that bit of humor scattered in your videos really adds to the experience. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to hearing about your next stop in your journey!

That is so true - and one of the reasons we love changing it up and moving our travels to SE Asia. 100% different style, culture, and food - keep the senses always guessing. I will say that when we head home and are there for 8 weeks, we find our minds getting so bored as we've returned to a life we can typically live with our eyes closed. and yes - Brian keeps the humor in the videos and brings it a bit down to reality 😂 gotta have some balance! Cheers 🍻

You should try traditional Polish donuts(pączki). These are donuts stuffed with wild rose jam. Two pastries come from Krakow. Obwarzanek krakowski dates back to the 14th century. Here the dough is steamed first and then baked. Bagels also come from Krakow. Cracow Jews started to bake them in the 17th century. Bagels were a gift for women after a successful birth in its early days. Bagels came to the USA with emigrants at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The traditional Krakow street food is maczanka krakowska. It was already popular in the 18th century. It is pulled pork in a rich sauce, served with pickles in a bun. The pride of the region is also Krakowska sausage(kiełbasa krakowska). Dry Krakowska sausage is the best.

I always swore, that if I ever went to Prague, I would have to find this place and try one!! A few months ago, I traveled to Prague and did exactly that !! It was the best Apple strudel that I’ve ever had period, not to mention it was about a foot long, huge and about 2 euros!!! The name of it is Žižkovská štrúdlárna!! You can take the tram most of the way, then it’s a walk through a residential area……Highly recommend! I think they are cash only. - Maria

Another quality video as to be expected. Europe is really very special, and a happy place for me. You are venturing to an area that I have not been, but it makes me curious to experience it. Rick Steves would say that there is no bad weather, just bad clothing. You made the best of it by staying an extra day or two it would look like. This is peak summer season and early on in your video especially it seemed to be less crowded in the streets. I also am pleasantly surprised to see less grafiti on the walls, unlike some areas in Lisbon, Porto and Portugal when I was there in May. The food is always hearty fare, and the beer is full and robust. Having been to Prague back in 2018, I will be anxious to see your travels there. As always enjoy, keep sharing.

Great that you have made it to Poland. Beautiful video images. It looks as if you had a great time even with the inclement weather. But, you are Washintonians and can handle it! Smiles. When I think of Poland, I always think of my (now late) friend from our university days here in L.A. He received a Fulbright scholarship to Poland in the 1970s. He loved it there and went back several times to visit friends whom he had made. He also received a Fulbright scholarship to China in the 1970s and stayed a year and also loved it there. We were together at university most of the 1970s. Poland was the first Eastern European country to join the Fulbright scholarship program in 1959. Senator J.William Fulbright of Arkansas developed the program as he believed that a program was needed to bridge cultures for a better understanding of each other since he felt that both nationalism and xenophobia were causes of WWII. In 1959, Franciszek Lyra received the first Fulbright scholarship from Poland to the U.S. and stayed in the U.S. for a year. Then, in 1961, a professor from Harvard, received the first Fulbright scholarship to Poland for a year. In 1946, Truman signed a bill and the Fulbright scholarship program was developed. The first countries in the program were China, The Phiilippines, Burma, and Greece and in 1948, eighty-three participants total from both the U.S. and from the first four participant countries were sent out on the Fulbright scholarship program for a cultural/educational year abroad. Hehe dumplings as an appetizer? . The dumplings are very filling and if you eat 10 of them you will be full. I like dumplings with blueberries, but they are offered when blueberries are in season - sweet and sour in taste, I can eat them 20 pieces at a time.😄

Great video guys! I am now considering Krakow on my journey. (Currently in Bulgaria). So glad you went to Auschwitz. I visited Dachau and it was sobering but glad I went. I hope you enjoy(ed) the Czech Republic. Besides the obvious Prague, I really enjoyed Pilsen. I hear they have a world-famous brewery there. 😏

Great video, as always! What a gorgeous place! I can’t wait to go there but Europe is still several years out for us. Brian, I think that was a very sneaky way to get sips of Carrie’s beer by ‘trying to figure out who’s beer was who’s’! 😂🤣😂🤣 I’m just curious but why all y’all traveling so fast this go around. On Saturday we leave Guadalajara, after being here a month, and we head to Morelia, Mexico for a month. 😁 Safe travels and looking forward to your next video. ❤️❤️

A lot of those Eastern European cities look really interesting, but not the greatest weather! But I learned at the Acropolis in Athens of all places that interesting places are still interesting in the rain. Gotta say, as much as I appreciate a good mug of beer, a cold glass of milk is the best way to finish off a caramel donut. 😀😀😀

We are really enjoying the places that we have been to so far. We are only 2 weeks ahead of our videos and can say that Eastern Europe is amazing!! Hi Guys, Thanks for another great video! It's also evident to me and probably other viewers that you are happy to be back in Europe. While Southeast Asia is an excellent place to visit, it is hard to beat Europe for its history and culture. In Asia, you stand out as foreigners, whereas in Europe, you blend in. The Pierogi's looked good, but so you know, whenever you see cabbage on the menu description in Eastern Europe, it will most probably be sauerkraut. By now, you are probably in the Czech Republic enjoying some of the best beer in the world. I look forward to hearing which one you like the most. I have my favorite, but we are all different. Cheers!

Krakow is great. I first visited the city in 1989 when it was communist and as the saying goes "if you tell the kids today- they wouldn't believe you!". The historical city center was in a rough state, very few restaurants, no shops to speak of, and completely dead after 6pm to give some hints...The teen-age me did however, notice that just like today there where very many pretty girls!
