I am Alain cohen Krav Maga and self defense expert.
On this video I will present you the best workout we use in our krav maga training in order to :
Develop our physical capacity
Prepare our body to all kind of situations
Create conditioned reflex to improve our defenses
Let's start !
1. First how to have devastating punches, to do that we need to develop our strength of course but more of this is to develop our speed, our explosivety, let’s see how
Regular push up
Diamond push up
Push up with my partner holding my legs
« Superman push ups » best exercise to develop the explosivety.
Then, very important exercise the blue elastic that will help me to incorporate into my punches all my body to rotate my shoulder and then come the punch.
2. Now let’s see how to have solid 360 degrees defenses :
First let’s prepare our shoulder joints with vertical push up,
Then break down push up and instinctive 360 defenses combined with abdominals workout.
3. Let’s continu with the Abdominal strength, as you know our abdominal muscles are the solid bases in most of our movements.
4. Now we will see a very simple exercise who will help you to :
Get a stronger body
Feel the real sensation of a break falls
And by the way develop your cardio vascular capacity.
5. The next exercise is really great because students work at the same time, one is working on his legs power, while his partner work on krav maga stick defense and get the real technic defense sensation as it should be performed.
6. The next exercise will develop the triceps parts of our body, why it is important to have them strong because when we spare or when we fight most of time we can not block all the attack from my opponent and we have to absorb those attacks so you really should have strong triceps.
7. This exercise also combined multiple goals, first one is to develop your hamstring muscles, the second one is to develop your stability capacity and also to perform a good knee attack with perfect hips rotation.
8. The best for the end, in my opinion pull up exercises are the best and this for many reasons ;
First it develop your real strength
Second, it help you in one single exercises to develop many different muscles such as biceps, triceps, abdominal…
And in krav maga we want dry muscles not big muscles. 💪 so to do that remember always work with light weight not heavy weight, but execute your movement with speed
