The backing vocals are from "Clare Torry". She is the featured vocalist in the following song "The Great Gig in the Sky". Many Pink Floyd songs are not meant to be listened to as individual songs. Time and the great gig in the sky are meant to be played as one song. In fact, Dark side of the moon is meant to be played in it's entirety.
@DavidJarvis5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Listening to any individual track from 'The Wall' will be even more challenging because the audio might just cut off at the end; many of the songs across all of Pink Floyd's catalog, in fact, are supposed to roll into the next song uninterrupted.

It comes directly after this song and it’s less a “song” and more a musical interlude but its fantastic(it’s actually my favorite song of anything anywhere by anyone ). The singer is Claire Torry who also sings Great Gig In the Sky. She improvised Great Gig in 2 and 1/2 takes. The company only paid her £30 session fee. Years later the group bumped into Claire in a cafe. When they heard what she got paid they gave her a large cheque but years later she got co-writing credit and sued the company and won an undisclosed sum. She wasn't angry or blamed Pink Floyd as she often sung with them after.

Actually, Waters did not sing on this track. David Gilmour sang first lead, Richard Wright sang the second stanza of each verse.

The backup singer is Clare Tony There have been others since but she is the original. Her vocals in The Great Gig In The Sky are simply astonishing. Makes the hair on your arms stand up. Goosebumps !

The female voice in the background is British session singer Clare Torry. She sang backup on the whole album. She really shines in Great Gig in the Sky.

Clare H. Torry (born 29 November 1947) is a Britishsinger, best known for performing the wordless vocals on the song "The Great Gig in the Sky" by the group Pink Floyd on their 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon.

you are correct if the version he is watching is from Dark side of the moon (looking at the album cover it seems so but usually i found that on the web they tend to use the versions from the tour albums either delicate or pulse) here but if it is the version from delicate sound of thunder is either the only white lady of the 3 vocalist that i think was Margret Taylor and in pulse i think was Claudia fontaine
@Hearthman11594 жыл бұрын
@@lucabazzanella7780 The tall black singer is Durga McBroom. You'll recognize her as one of the dancers in "Flashdance". Claudie Fontaine is her sister. Other touring singers have been Margaret Taylor, Rachel Fury, Claire Torre & Vicki Brown ( these 2 at Knebworth) and Sam Brown. Claire is the one who sang "Great Gig in the Sky" and finally got recognition and royalties for her vocal arrangement and performance.

I only discovered "reaction" videos a few months ago. I have watched MANY reaction channels...covering a lot of music styles. I am a Pink Floyd fan from decades ago, but I also love most of the REAL music from the 60's onwards. KING KTF..YOU are the ONLY genuine "reactor"! So many channels have no idea what they are actually hearing- they have no soul for the music, they just pretend. You are now the only reaction channel I will ever watch. Naturally, it's the Pink Floyd...mostly. *winks* Thanks, and kudos to you kid!

Dude you are making me appreciate Floyd all over again. Their music comes back into my life in different seasons and I can appreciate it in all new ways. Such an absolutely killer band, absolutely legendary, almost every song is just dope. I can't explain it. I can finally start to see what people were getting at who proudly wore pink Floyd shirts and gear before I even knew who they were or anything...I can finally see a little bit of what those people were trying to represent and carry with them to spread to others.

Imagine a concert stage totally dark,with the sound of a clock tick,then and alarm going off. Suddenly a small but bright spot light is on the drummer,his back is to you and he starts playing small bongo like drums . All you can see is him playing this intro. Then suddenly at the end of his solo ,he spins around and the stage explodes with lights the whole band starts playing that great song. That was 46 years ago, every time l hear that song that memory floods my thoughts.
