In this episode of Back in the Garage I show you how to install a new skid plate on your KTM 790/890 ADV bike. I upgraded the stock skid plate to an Enduro Engineering Skid Plate. This particular video I show how to install one on a 2021 KTM 890 ADV R but the process will be nearly the same on other KTM 790 and 890 bikes as well as the Husqvarna Norden 901.

Wanted to give you a big thank you for your brake bleed video the bleeder up by front brake lever is what I think fixed it . I did not know about that bleeder , and think that is what fixed it thank you. Full pressure now. 😊

I went with the Camel ADV and very glad I did. Peace of mind I wont wreck my motor and much more support around the rearsets.

So what are your thoughts on a one piece with metal tank guards all tied in? I’ve seen guys with stress fractures on the tank plastic

Nice video, definitely considering this skid plate now. I have a question unrelated to the video.. do you plan on doing a video on performing a valve clearance check/adjustment on the 790? I'm struggling to find a good one online and I'm sure you'd do a great job of explaining it!

Looks quite sturdy. However, I don't like the exposed screw heads. They should have used countersunk screws. Another nit pick is about units. NM = Newton Mega It should be Nm. It's a very common mistake.

I'm back and forth on countersunk vs exposed. Exposed are easier to get to under the bike but get the advantage of counter sunk. As for the units, you'll notice I typically keep everything in caps, mainly just to make it easier to read for folks; get your point tho.

I just picked up one of these. Something I didn't see or think about when ordering is the fact that the bolt heads are sticking out on the bottom. For log or rock crossings and sliding the skit plate across obstacles, how is this going to be affected? Will these just snap off? What are your thoughts and maybe I can find some flush mount bolts.

Don’t overthink it. It’s a better skid plate. Go ride the hell out of it.

Hi Mario, how are ye? I am a little boozed up right now, but I still do not understand why your KZfaq channel does not have more subscribers. I tried to help you by getting the UK maybe the second largest KZfaq guy to comment . Then, he shit on you🙄 What a fucking arsehole he is. He comments on J the very large American comedian talk show host website, but it seems other folk are not allowed to do that. Have an excellent life if you can.
