Putting new seals in a leaking hydraulic cylinder. The tractor is a Kubota B7500 with a LA 302 Loader. These cylinders only leaked when the temperature was in the 40s or lower. I'm tired of cleaning up oil. 🙂

Tom, I always break the spanner wrench nut loose while it's still on the tractor, a lot easier that way. Good luck next time.

There’s 6-piece spanner set (“coil over adjustment tools”) on Amazon for $23 that is well worth the price. Bought it to replace seals on a John Deere 500C steering arm. The zip ties are a slick idea for compressing a lighter internal seal, but heavier ones will require a tool. A set of three was on Amazon for $36 in March 2022; unfortunately it is now $46. It was noted that the loader and seals were made in the USA. Take apart the wheels - as I did the other day for repair of my B7500’s front tires - and you will see that they were supplied by USA company.

I've never had a problem so I haven't researched it. I did dig a little this morning. It looks like it's internal. Here is a link to the parts diagram. Good luck and thanks for watching. www.colemanequip.com/parts/model/Kubota-B7500HSD-Hydrostat-4WD-Compact-Tractors-Parts/ENGINE-34117/HYDRAULIC-PUMP-34357/

If resealing 3, might as well reseal all of them. Cold weather causes seals to get hard and the cylinder rod shrink.Theres your leak.
@tomhendricks3163 жыл бұрын
One of the cylinders was resealed a few years ago by the dealer. You're right, hard seals and rod shrink. I have them all done now and no leaks. Long overdue Thanks for watching!

I never use hydrocarbons on seals unless if I know it's viton. Try slideglide or some shit I think it's called I always called it slyglyde it doesn't melt or freeze but probably cost 3 times as much as that tub of vaseline lol
@tomhendricks3163 жыл бұрын
I was actually thinking while I was making the video, there must be a better product then my old school vaseline. I'll try your slideglide next time. Hopefully l'm done with hydraulic cylinders for a while. Thanks for watching!
