Nicely done. Don't forget to change your drive oil. That can lead to expensive repairs down the road. Most people don't change them because they think the hydraulic system is all that runs them.

I have a similar machine but it's a kx161-3 super series. Are you able to change this machine to a one way flow for a brush cutter so you can use the trigger? Can you make a how to video on that?

too much oil will never 'blow a seal'. will not effect 'head pressure' the issue would be having the sump oil too high and the crankshaft whipping it in to a foam. as long as oil level is below the crankshaft it is fine

Oils already have anti-foaming agents in them. Positive crankcase pressure dynamics is a very real phenomenon. And not good for your engine. All those scenarios are very possible. Thanks for watching!

Hi John, John here. Where did you get those wixx parts ? The kabuta parts are expensive. I have the u35 model, great machine.. almost got a 121 like yours but I didn't because I wouldn't be able to move it (legally) due to the extra weight. The u35 might lack a bit in strength digging because of not having the extra weight on the back and having a 3 cylinder 1.6 but Jesus it efficient, a full day of work is less than 20 liters of diesel (5 gallons ish) it's incredible, how's the kx121 in terms of fuel consumption? Regards

Awesome video. made 4 years ago and it's giving me knowledge on a machine I bought just a couple weeks ago! I have a question, in the coolant reservoir in the back of the machine, I've noticed some people have coolant in there and others don't. Is it just an overflow reservoir? Or should that always have coolant up the HIGH mark? Thanks!

yes top off at the radiator and then coolant tank should be filled with in the proper marks

You're a pretty good mechanic. I'm not. But I have identical Kubota. When I shut my engine off after working it a couple hours, I hear water boiling. Is that normal?

pretty sure you have air in the system. which means you first need to make sure you have the proper coolant level.

this engine needs 15w40 diesel engine oil or equivalent

@yvesberard9577 it depend on your working temps if you are consistently under 32deg/0C you can probably go with a straight 30 with. If your above 95F or higher you wuse a definite grade of oil

You definitely need to fill the oil to the top of the market and if you are in hills you want a little over.

You are correct. Diesel fuel has sulfur in it & can generate soot in the blow by gases that are acidic and abrasive. Gasoline engines do not have this issue. But i just used what i had on hand. Next oil change i will go with the proper CF class lubricating oil. Mobil 1 full syn. oil is still a very high quality oil with strong detergents in it. So i am not too worried about it.
