Yep, and it’s four years old but the batteries still hold up well. If you want to see what it could do when new, you might want to watch my review video of it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bd9lrZugrL_JdWg.html. Thanks for watching!

I have never had much use for pallet forks. I do however have my hay bale forks that double as pallet forks for me when I do need to move a pallet. I am different from most tractor owners/ hobby farmers. I have 4 loader tractors here. One is my 1958 John Deere with a No. 45 mechanical trip loader. I use that in the woods. I am taking this week off from work to cut my winters firewood. The eaves up here in Iowa are nearing their peak Martin. I spent the day in the woods today and loved it. I took delivery on a drone this week and am really looking forward to shooting video for my channel with it. As always, great video Martin. You got to spend some high quality time outdoors on a Kubota tractor. It doesn’t get better than that.

Hi Gary! That’s interesting but understandable since your hay bale forks can stand in for pallet forks. Glad you’re taking the week off to spend quality time in the fall woods and cooler days. Enjoy! Looking forward to seeing your drone footage, hopefully of the fall trees at their peak. Thanks for watching!

Great video, Martin. Spent my 3-day weekend bush hogging about an acre of woods and cutting up downed trees from hurricane Sally who graced our lives 2 yrs ago. Bush hogging woods for the first time can be an expensive undertaking; cost me a grille (taken out by a branch, don’t know the cost yet but it won’t be cheap,) a loader pin that came out after a limb flipped the bale open on it and it vibrated out ($80), three shear pins on the PTO shaft (only about $2 each) and a lotta time cleaning up the tractor afterwards, but it was worth it. Woods look good and we cut up & moved about a half dozen big pines. Might look into the electric chainsaw you have, it hauls the mail and it’s gotta be lighter than my 20” gas Stihl, which seems to get heavier as I progress in years. Thanks for another excellent episode, enjoy your week. 👍

Thanks, Dave! Broken grille? Ouch! Might be time to consider a grill guard. I’ve never had a loader pin come out and hope I never do. Glad it was worth it to you and you are happy with the results! Yes, that Greenworks chainsaw has been awesome. Long battery life, good power, very durable and low noise. The biggest downside is it will cut slower than a gas powered saw, but for my needs it’s great. Thanks for watching!

Hi Tony! I love mine and I’m willing to trade slower cutting for no noise, no smell and no frustration with finicky 2 cycle engines. If you are used to gas powered performance then you might consider 80V cordless chainsaws. I would expect they would have the power to cut faster. Thanks for watching!

Nice work, Martin. The electric chainsaw impressed me. Of course, the sharper the chain, the longer the battery life. I'm glad you got that big trunk out of the way safely. Even though I use my grapple 99% of the time, I still think I need a set of SSQA pallet forks. The clamp-on version do well in a pinch, but they do take a while to install properly as you know - since I learned that from you. 😁

Thanks David! Yes, I love my Greenworks chainsaw. It had a fresh battery and a sharp chain so it had 50% battery left at the end. Get a real set of pallet forks. You won’t regret it. Thanks for watching!

Did Martin say “rest” in peace or, “rot” in pieces!!??😁🤣 Do you ever process any of the trees you harvest, for whatever reason, into fire pit wood? I think a cool project YOU would enjoy would be, building an earthen oven!! Jas. Townsend has a great you tube channel and he does a series on building one. Think it would go nicely out by the stream, bake a nice pizza and enjoy the evening!👍🏻

He said “rest in peace”. I know because I was there when he said it. 😄 But I like you line better. Yes, I do. We have a fire pit on the back patio so I cut up and split a small amount of wood for it each season. An earthen oven? Nah, nothing that fancy, but I may build a fire pit down there one of these days. Thanks for watching!

Nice job, Martin. The moment you said you were going to use the green chainsaw, I thought that was going to be a tough cut but that little bruiser held its own quite well. Bravo brother. Enjoyed a full-watch and you're right, a nice set of pallet forks will definitely do a myriad of jobs on one's property. Have a fine week. It should be some nice weather for a bit. Don 👍🏽🤠 10/10/22

We have the Precision mfg adjustable add a grapple for our forks which is nice to keep logs and brush in place when transporting. Our other purpose for it is moving round bales to our sheep and goat hay feeders. For that we have a lot of rear ballast for those bales.

@@DIYMyWay Yes my local Kubota dealer had never installed one before. They did have to make a couple of adjustments after we took delivery of our Grand L. The biggest take away is buy from a dependable dealer if you aren't familiar with hydraulic fittings rather than do it yourself. They had to switch one of them to a swivel, because a fixed broke off while working. No charge either thime they adjusted with the replacement parts.

I was wondering if there is a demand for firewood in your area. Instead of leaving in the ditch, perhaps you could sell the logs
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay Жыл бұрын
I imagine there is, but those logs are going stay in that ditch, unless I think of a use for them elsewhere on the property.

When I don’t have them on the tractor, they are kept on a shelf next to the tractor. Since they get in the way of the chain boxes, I only use them when I am either working near the road or using a 3-point implement. Thanks for watching!
