I am so glad to hear that you are going to give this a try. I really believe that you will enjoy it and like what you create! It is so portable. I braid while watching TV. I have even used old string that I found in my junk drawer. It turned out to make a nice 16 inch necklace. It's unique and is now one of my favorites. Good Luck and have fun with it. There are a lot of ideas on the internet, too.

Wow, thank you Rosie, for making it so simple. I had purchased a disc a few months ago but kinda' intimidated to start, and wasn't sure what types of material I could use. Now I know I have some materials around the house I can use to get started, and know how much it takes. I can't wait to make something !

Thank you so much for your video. I just bought the Kumihimo Braiding disk, and your video was the first one I clicked on. Your instructions were clear and I could see everything you were doing very well. In a little over an hour I had my first bracelet made. Since I had such good results I am encouraged me to keep working with the KBD. Thank-you again for the great video.

Thanks for the reply about the numbers. I may not even think about tackling more than 8 strands for a while, lol. I'm having so much fun using different color cords. Amazing how the number of colors and position of them on the loom make a difference.

I have been doing Kumihimo bracelets and keychains for a couple of year now, and I am starting to make money with it by having big orders. Currently I am doing an order of 50 bracelets for someone, and they are all different. I enjoy using the embroidery floss because it is monetarily more in my ballpark and also, I just like the look of it. I like the satin cord ones also but have not made many of them. Your video is great for helping first time braiders. Its nice to meet you :)

You explain this so well! I love it!!!
@RubberstamprosieBlogspot11 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your kind comment and questions. Yes, you can use craft thread and embroidery floss, but the braid will be much thinner and more flexible. As far as using more strings than eight, I have not tried it yet, but I think there are some KZfaq videos on this. Good luck in your braiding!

Oh, also, I use the spools to keep my string from tangling when I do large orders of the same style, and my fiancee said that the sound of them 'banging' together is very soothing. I seem to always help him fall asleep when I do it before bed. :)
