Mads' RC Buggy

Mads' RC Buggy

So have a look here, it's my favourite buggy! This isn't really race related, just about the joy of driving a proper powerful machine.
Kyosho. Serious about having fun, they say... Certainly I managed to have some fun with this awesome buggy... It wasn't always like that, I had some issues getting to terms with the buggy... I would blame the track, though.
So this is a used buggy, it came built and it even had a servo in it, a very good one, and a noisy fan, too. I put my best radio system in it, and I invested in a nice sensored brushless system, lots of power.
The Kyosho Inferno platform is designed by Yuichi Kanai, who is a race driver himself, have a look at his facebook page, see link below:

Anyway, enjoy the video, I put some music in it also, it's from White Bat Audio again:

To the moon!! 😂 Boy that thing doesn't half jump well Mads, just look how elegant she looks through the air, and landing so gracefully and well balanced! You can clearly see it's a track weapon at heart. I love Kyosho models, they really produce a great quality product. Thanks for sharing buddy. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Thanks Yoda! Yeah, ha ha, I don't normally require "big air" when I jump RC cars, but I gotta say this one does it gracefully! It's a beauty on the ground, and also in the air! I needed to teach myself how to jump properly, keep the throttle on during flight, and only release right before landing. Much easier in a casual setting like a dirt road, rather than on a big race track. I am so happy I didn't keep trying on the track thing, I am no racer, he he. I get my race fix on speed challenges and slalom and stuff, he he.

That's a great buggy, Mads. And those tires tell a story... Well loved! That plush suspension is something to observe, it's so silky smooth! Great stuff, pal!

Thanks Fil! Yeah, I don't know what it is about the suspension, it sits so low, very soft, but still works so well! Planted on the ground, corners like a champ, but also lands those big jumps with confidence. It's just a great buggy!

Hi there Mads! Well I can see why you like this buggy (or tool or weapon)! Love what you did with the body. It looks to handle wonderfully and super soft landings off the jump, you got some excellent slomo shots right there! Great that you refound the fun and everything else! Those neon wheels look cool, too bad the rubber smell has long gone! That little 1/14 scale looks interesting and should be fun too. Aboot - haha!! 🤣😎👍

Thanks Mark! Yeah, I am so happy with this buggy, and especially my decision to not pursue that naive dream of being able to race it on a track, I just don't have the talent nor the patience for that kind of effort... I like to have fun with my RC cars! I'm really looking forward to get on with that 14th scale buggy, I am missing a receiver for it, and of course the paint job, which I am quite excited about, I have a nice steel gray I want to paint it, and some neon yellow, of course, he he... I look forward to get started on my next slalom video, show you my TT-02, I think it came out pretty nice, a bit weird, but nice...

Thanks Jeremy! Yeah, this buggy got a bit of a bad vibe last year, but looking back, it wasn't the buggy, it was my track experience. It was just too difficult for my talent level, he he. I much prefer some casual driving, or we can also call it bashing, I don't like that term much, but that is what it is... So yeah, I really enjoy a nice piece of technology, and I'm happy to be able to take this out again. I love this buggy!

That's a hell of a buggy Mads.... I had an Inferno many years ago (1991 maybe), I used an O.S. .21 RX motor in it... Back then, there was no brushless systems.

Thanks Uncle Bob! Yeah, had I not left the RC hobby back in late 80'ies, I would have likely also been into the nitro game. But I'm kind of happy I missed that chapter, got back right when brushless has become so awesome and affordable, he he...

It is a very cool buggy and I have always love the look ad excitement of the 1/8 scale world but I only had nitro ones. Electric is so much nicer to deal with and so much less cleaning! LOL! Have fun with it Mads and look forward to seeing it again on the channel! Take care and have a great week!

Thanks Addam! Yeah, 8th scale is really something special! I'm kind of happy I managed to skip the whole nitro thing, personally. I'm an electrician now, but had I stayed in RC back in the 80'ies, I would have likely played with nitro engines, and who knows what that would have done to my career choices, he he... Anyway, happy to see what has happened now with brushless motor technology, quite amazing! Definitely I got more video plans for that old MP10e! Just you wait and see, he he! Have a great week there, my friend!

Very cool buggy Mads! Love the presentation on your videos mate 🙌🏻 I have always wondered what these larger buggies are like and it seems that they are full of smiles and laughter…. Just don’t let them jump into you 😂🤣

Thanks Craig! And huge thanks, I was really happy with this video, so I'm happy to get the feedback on it. Yeah, 8th scale has some sort of magic to it. It's really cool! Hard to describe, other than just say you should try one! Be sure to have a big space available for driving, and then just find yourself an old used race buggy, renovate it and put a nice big brushless system in it, brace yourself for the power experience, he he. I am intending to do a video about it, like a guide, but it'll still be another year or so before I can do it... He he, I've had a few collissions with my legs, but fortunately no injuries yet...

Thanks Paul! Yeah, it's an 8th scale, a good bit bigger than 10th scale. And also more powerful, typically. They are quite addictive, so if you try one, you might get hooked, he he...

Thanks buddy! Yeah, you do have access to an 8th scale track, so I think you should, he he... It might not get the attention that an Optima gets, but has every bit as much soul and history, this buggy. Plus it's a piece of awesome technology!

Thanks Paul! Yeah, I am partly really keen on the track runs, but also my effort with this buggy last year nearly broke me, Or it was the track that did that anyway... So was a big relief to just have fun with this lovely buggy! I don't know the MP8 in particular, but I would say go for it! These buggies have been around for many years, and the effort that Kyosho has put into them is amazing, such awesome design and quality of the materials, so nice! There is great value in these old used kits, I am planning to make a video about it, but will be maybe in a year's time or something. In my opinion, you can find some really nice stuff, and of course it won't be cheap-cheap, but definitely worth it!

Wow, great looking buggy, I have heard a lot of good things about the Kyosho MP10e. You were having a blast out there with this machine, I handles well on the jumps and land real smooth. I need to cut some vent holes for both the Typhon TLR Tuned and the TC Sparks XB6 to keep them cool during this summer. Now your reading material the Buggy book, where did you get it? Great video my friend and looking forward to the running of the Reflex 14B. Take care and stay safe out there.

Thanks Al! I'm happy to see you managed to watch this video and you liked it! Yeah, it's a really cool buggy, hard to describe, but way different to my Typhon, so maybe a bit like your TLR Typh, maybe? Yeah, definitely cut the vent holes, there might actually be cut lines molded into the body. Just be sure the cut the hole smaller than you intend it to be, file and sand it to the size you want, make sure to make rounded edges. And then reinforce, I use drywall tape and Shoegoo. I have been thinking of adding a filter sheet also, but so far haven't managed. I find the mesh keeps out the worst stones. Yeah, that book, it is called Invisible Speed 2, written by Joseph Quagraine. It's intended for racers, which I know for certain I am not, but I think I will benefit from it anyway. From flicking through the book a couple times, I would recommend it. I think you would probably also like it and find it useful. Try look it up, I do believe it is also sold in the US, I think Ryan Lutz sells it on his website also. Yup, I can't wait to get on with that little Reflex 14B. Have a good one there, my friend!
