L.A Guns are so terribly underrated. They still crank out great albums and sound great live! Thank God they're still around and touring. I LOVE this band!

Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns---great, great duo.

Phil gave LA Guns his all... He stuck with it when sticking with it wasn't in vogue. Has been a blast following the band since Tracii's return. Both of those guys belong together and of course Phil's voice outshines most of his contemporaries from that time. LA Guns featuring Tracii and Phil are the real deal for sure.

Been a fan since 87 and I met him at the vegas airport about 7 years ago. I didn't want to bug him but he didn't seem to mind at all and I probably could have had a longer chat with him while he waited to pick up his daughter. I regret not hangin with him a bit longer. Nice guy, fantastic singer.

L.A. Guns has always been my favorite from the 80's era. Still are to this day! Seen them many, many times. Guns were the last live show I seen just before the pandemic shutdown. Can't wait to see them live again. Keep rockin Phil...your a class act!

Phil Lewis was the soul of LA Guns. Those first 3 albums were absolute masterpieces! "Hollywood Vampires" was such an incredibly underrated record.

I met Phil in 2009 at a concert with LA. GUNS and he and the band were as nice as could be, especially to my kids, they signed a CD and a T shirt, Stephen Riley was also very friendly, very approachable bunch of guys, I'll never forget that.

So you grow up rocking to these guys, who seemed way larger than life. And yet these interviews show that that were just everyday guys who had a vision and jumped at it when a chance rolled about. Got on a plane and arrived in LA the next day? That's inspiring. And despite all of the fun they had, they worked hard. Imagine going out and doing a loud, long show when you're feeling down or ill. And then having to get on a bus and do it again the next night! Love guys like Phil Lewis!

Raw honesty - love it

I remember seeing the video for Electric Gypsy for the first time & thinking, "This band kicks ass!" Then it was Ballad of Jayne. But my favorite song was One Way Ticket. It was a dark ballad when most of the ballads were sappy love songs. Great band.

Phil is my favorite vocalist by far. I am a lifelong LA Guns fans.

Way underrated singer

Hands down, my favorite band of the whole Era. I've seen them 28 times through the years, and met the guys several times. They may not have been the first LA club band, but by far the best. When we finally get back to normal, I'll be in the ticket line again..

I was Phil's roadie one night when he played with Filthy Lucre in LA. I had a difficult time putting his equipment into his little Jaguar after the show, but it all fit surprisingly! He is a pretty cool guy!

As someone in their mid 40's, I have had a blast learning their songs and others from my childhood. It's surprising that some of the "Hair" Metal songs can be a little complicated. Some of the guitar players didn't get the recognition they deserved. Finally in 2020 - 2021, they are being recognized.

"So people could relate to the music again". I was about 9 or 10 and really got into the rock/metal of the time. That was at the tail end of the whole thing. I was 13 or 14 when Nevermind came out, so of course I was a massive fan. The silly thing about it all is that this "relatable" music had lyrics that were totally incomprehensible due to the way the vocalists were singing, and even when you could understand the words they were generally so cryptic that they made no sense anyways. So yeah, very relatable. The musicians themselves seemed more like real people than most guitar based music of the 80s, but I could understand what the songs meant, which I couldn't with all the grunge stuff.

Great Great Band ! Better than G&R ... These guys always took time for their fans.. God Bless Phil & Tracii for LIFE !

Met Phil in 2001 when LA Guns played the Hard Rock I was working at, at the time. He walked off the bus and through the door with a brunette on one arm and a blonde on the other, Both smoking hot. I said now that's a rockstar's grand entrance. Nice guy also.

Hollywood Vampires....the one album that comes to my mind when I hear " the wrong place at the wrong time!" Had that album come out a few years earlier, LA Guns would've been on GnR level...so freaking great! Still a phenomenal live band to this day!

Phil was in a superb band from London (after Girl) called Torme named after guitarist Bernie Torme. They were getting a huge club following around the UK but as Phil mentions the UK had turned it's back on rock music.

I want to here more about Phil working as an editor at FOX sports.

Great all around singer man. His voice was so different from anything else out there. Idk how they didn’t get bigger than they did (and they had a lot of success don’t get me wrong). I see them at Jergels in Pittsburgh PA EVERY time they come. Just Tracii and Phil originals, but man, they are great and they’ve got some good dudes in the band now w a lot of talent!!

He’s one tough son of a gun. Imagine being him in the 80s in L.A. Wow. Reminds me of Billy Idol, in some ways. Saw em in concert in Boston. They rocked it like a lightning strike.

There first 3 albums were killer 👍🏻

I really enjoy The self titled album, and Vicious circle. V.C. is different but it has some catchy songs, like Killing Machine for one. The last 2 albums since Tracii came back have been so damn good!

Phil is 64 and is at his best. Looks great for his age and has the energy and performance standard of someone 30 years younger. Go watch an L.A Guns show those guys are Ripping through shows like they just started. Phil and Traci don't cheat their fans and aren't burn outs total professionals and the other younger dudes in the band fit perfect.

LOVE LOVE LOVE L.A. Guns! But sadly, we've had tickets to see them on two separate occasions. Both times shows CANCELLED! :'(

Love LA Guns……wish the main 5 (Phil, Tracii, Steve, Kelly and Mick) would figure out a way to put up with each other and get back together.

To me,L.A. Guns was the alternative version to Motley Crue...not as 'pretty' or as 'fluffy'...an equally as powerful.

The thing is, we, the fans, knew who the junk bands were. (Brunette? Seriously?) We didn't need Savior Cobain to come in and change things for us. We just needed the bands we loved to keep making good music. Problem is, most of them jumped on the gloom bandwagon and also started wearing flannel and writing shit music. Then we, the fans, stopped buying their records because they were not what they should have been. Every band from Glam to thrash had a "grunge" phase to try and "stay with the times" but it was all garbage. Some worked their way out of it and recovered their sound and some didn't. I will say that The Missing Peace is a brilliant record and is up there with the LAG classics in my eyes. If it had come out after Hollywood Vampires it would have been huge. Great album.

Yeah, you could feel it at the time, the music was getting poppier and further away from it's roots. The thing about pop is it usually has a 3 year life cycle, tops. It wasn't just the "fluff bands" that put the nail in coffin, GnR went all symphony orchestras and grand pianos when they sold because they were grittier and had not forgotten their roots.

When he says Alan Jones,does he mean Alex”leather and bones Jones “from the Sex Pistols era????

Phil is politely saying 'we' or i should say 'they' the crappy bands he speaks of ' disappeared up their arses and people couldn't relate to them' that's why Nirvana were so huge....
