Chamber choir ACVA VOCES of the Academy of Vocal Arts performed the Mozart Requiem on June 12th 2022 in the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague. This is a live recording of the Lacrimosa. Enjoy!

Works like Lacrimosa affirm the truth of human potential. Yes, it’s sad that few in this life acknowledge or approach that potential. But it’s there and we need to be reminded and encouraged. Thank you, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. We need you. Thank you, choir, orchestra, conductor, and the institution of which you are a part. We need you.

@@yin-yang-gal Bernstein's, (in my opinion) is the greatest interpretation ever recorded. There's a video with Confutatis in the beginning, followed by the most impressive Lacrimosa I ever heard, by him on KZfaq.

Mozart did some work that is so timeless that it could have come out today. This is one of those pieces. Now about this live recording. Thank God that it was, the zombies are very bad at this sort of singing.

Maybe the violin isn't quite there with the lamentation slash moaning motif intended for the part (let's remember this is a funerary chant; a réquirem, after all) but the voices absolutely make up for it
