Los Angeles Fire Department Engine 66 was initially dispatched alone to an auto fire at the intersection of Gage Ave. x Gramercy Ave. just before 13:30 hours.
E66 arrived on scene of a full involved RV exposing a one-story metal clad commercial building and requested a structure fire assignment.
Units assigned: Battalion 13, Battalion 18, Task Force 66, Light Force 26 (canceled), Truck 33, Engine 46, Engine 57, Engine 233, Squad 21, Rescue 66, Rescue 266, & Rescue 866.
E66 was fire attack on the RV, LF66 was tasked with forcible entry into the commercial building, then went to the roof shortly after (no cuts made), and BC13 was “Gage IC”. The incident was handled with TF66, RA66, & RA266.
There was no extension into the commercial building, no one was said to be inside the RV. No injuries, unknown cause.

Thank you for being Johnny on the spot. Being there from beginning. YES extension to structure a bad thing, especially when you don't know the Haz-Mat inside. Probably lots of Flammable material, by the looks of walls, possible a wrecking yard. Lots of fuel on other side of wall.

Yes, the nozzle girl should have been faster and more aggressive. But the lost time was of no consequence in this case. Donning full SCBA at a fire like this is important, and we have seen LAFD not be as carefull about this as they should be in several videos like this coming out of South LA.

@@chrisbarr1359 The Ff stood up wind of the blaze whilst taking control of the line until she started up BA set, it's quite normal in the UK for Ff's to carry out the initial attack until the BA wearer's are ready, although I'm now retired we would do that on a regular basis. I think the female Ff was still under instruction or guidance from a more experience Ff.

Agreed, most likely he is the senior FF on E66 and saw slow progress being made by the other FF who had originally pulled the line, she could’ve used alittle bit more of moving with a purpose. Just those few seconds made a world of difference during the fire attack!
@VfRuckus
@VfRuckus 3 жыл бұрын
You're completely wrong. He was not prepared, no gloves, no SCBA, no safety. It's a fucking RV and it's completely destroyed, there was no chance of saving it in those precious 10 seconds it took for the other firefighter to don their SCBA. Also he had a saw, he had a job to do. But I guess freelancing is his priority. That fighter did as trained, get the nozzle to the fire, flake it out. Put on your mask and get on air, then attack. You don't don your SCBA until ready, air is precious. Everyone knows a RV is filled with shit that will kill you over long term. But I guess cancer and respiratory is not a concern for some firefighters, saving a completely destroyed RV is more important.
