Ikoyi is beautiful indeed. My only problem with it is the fact that we continued with the colonial master lordship system even after independence. We kept ikoyi, the colonial master area, only now its for the rich and powerful rather than building the entire state, city to this standard. Imagine if a better part of lagos and Nigeria is like lkoyi, green, planned etc nigeria would be paradise.A very nice video Toluwalope, thanking you. 🙏

Is it the people in Ikoyi or the government that’s telling you not to maintain or build up your own neighborhood’s standard? 🤦♀️ Anyway, places like Banana Island, Parkview, VGC, some parts of Lekki, even most of Victoria Island, are post-colonial developments (as are the best places in Abuja) and try to match these standards. Conversely, places like the original Festac Town that was “planned, green” at inception has been destroyed and turned into virtual slums by its residents. #TakeResponsibility

@@therealist2866 Yeah ! Give regular people a chance and they will make a slum out of any neighbourhood! That’s why I am all for gated estates or highly priced neighbourhoods! Keep the riffraff out .😂😂😂

Your previous videos about UI ibadan and recent lekki and oniru axis. It was good for Children who are visiting Nigeria for the first time. I seem to member that the climate in Ikoyi was always a bit cooler than the mainland perhaps the lagoons. How could you go to Ikoyi and not show Queens Drive?!?! When I was growing up that was the most luxurious part of Ikoyi!

Beautiful work dear. Thank you. Beautiful neighborhood. However, I will critique the city, not your work. The aesthetics could be improved a lot more. 80/100. Perhaps, my standards are extremely high. For a neighborhood where the homes are $1,000,000+ it should have an outstanding design and finish. In terms of aesthetics, this is a $600,000 neighborhood. One thing I've noticed about most Nigerian roads is poorly constructed side walks. That is, poor placement of trees, misaligned lawns, high concrete angles and inadequate walk space. Not pedestrian friendly at all. Even if we own cars, sometimes we feel like walking. Also, for a neighborhood of such calibur, I expected sidewalks to be free of ill parked cars. They block the sidewalks forcing pedestrians into the drive lanes and also an eye sore. The sidewalk is the beauty of the street. Poorly constructed sidewalks makes a neighborhood look average or below average.

It’s funny how the Oyinbo-Okada man never shows these lovely sane areas that Tolu Nazzal is showing us ! And he did a tour of Ikoyi as well o! His own is to probe the slums for “content”! Contents that don’t help man nor beast! I for like to revoke him visa !
