Glad you started this channel. It would be a sin to not share these stories and moments with the people that made NASCAR what it was in the day. NASCAR was a lot more interesting to watch back then. The drivers where great characters. Thank you for doing what you are doing.

I agree with you that this story may not have fit into the main video. But, this is still a very cool story from Lake and I'm glad you shared it here. This is the NASCAR I remember (haven't watched in a long time) and I'm glad these stories get captured and shared with the world.

This stuff isn't nonsense at all. You are recording future history. Someday there are going to be alot of people that will be very thankful you did this. The future of NASCAR is pretty bleak, but this kind of stuff takes me back to the 80's and 90's before they started jerking around with everything. Thanks for sharing it with us, carry on.

Strong video on the extra channel. Subscribed now. The substory is excellent. Darel Dieringer leading Lake Speed into Nascar is a new fact for me and cool. Dieringer was a real deal in his time. Lake Speed's early races in Nascar fills in some knowledge gaps. The ARCA experience sort of followed the tone of his career (IMO, which is always suspect)...great talent and some bad breaks with sparks of brilliance. Always had great respect for Lake Speed. Thanks for the content, I appreciate what you both do.

Mitchell, what you need to do is find a way to put all these guys together for a vintage event. Rusty, Mark, Sterling, Lake. Darrell, Schrader etc, etc. Have them bring out the old cars and run laps. I find the NASCAR of the 70, 80, 90 FAR FAR more interesting than NASCAR of today. Back then they had moxie, determination, creativity, seat of the pants wicked intelligence, the character of their personality. The reams worked their ass off cause they had too . They had to work smarter than the next guy. I recall so much about what they acheived in the past. Cale running 200 at Daytona, Elliott at 212 at Talladega, the screaming howl of Sterlings Kodak car, Kulwicki and the Underbird. The innovation, you always were waiting for the next "thing" to come along. The fascinating personalities. What history will we recall in 30 years or will it even be interesting. What personalities stand out today comparing to the ones mentioned aside from one or two Today, just spend money and buy a Spec Kit car. Yawn, boring. Dont forget your poster boy corporate PR man / race car driver ZZZZZZZZZZ Today it seems to have lost its charm. The answer to everything today is to spend more money. Its lost its excitement, color, the spectacle of the show. Its just one big advertisement now. Same thing has happened in drag racing. The is no more "show

Ment to tell you I have a Bud Moore Lake Speed #15. I am wearing it New Smyrna and Geoff Bodine is Grand Marshall and sees the jacket. He is signing cards and the line is long Now the close it down I can now talk to him he has saved me the card whereupon he won the last race for Bud. Steve Smith comes over saying he drove for Bud and signs the jacket. We also ended up with the Spam body's for our Hooters car from Bobby Dotter. I got lots of Lake stuff!😊
