TheOtherWhiteBread0 Here in Michigan 5grand is a lot to spend on a dock. A lot of the docks are pre made modular sections that are removed every fall because otherwise they would be ripped apart and sent downstream when the ice breaks up or during spring flooding. This isn't Florida. Aluminum docks with wheels are popular on wixom. Easy in, easy out. Same with boat lifts.

2A Supporter Nah this exact thing happened to Lake Delton in Wisconsin Dells around 2008. The dam failed and the entire man made lake drained into the river. It was a lot more spectacular than this, I remember 4 big houses collapsing and being sucked into the raging waters on video I’m sure it’s here in KZfaq. A few years later it’s back as it was and now there’s a nice historical plaque at the spot where it failed.

No, they warned Lee Mueller, the private owner of these dams, not "county officials". Mueller, has been warned about these dams for years, and actually wanted the lakefront property owners to pay for the near 100 grand repair(back in 2011, it was probably far more than that now since he neglected them for so long) to the dam, even though he owns them, and was making money hand over fist from them.

@Donald Kasper that's not how dams work, the lake would be deeper, yes, but its normal level would be at the same spot the shallow version had, meaning - increase inflow would still make it run over the dam, they need to increase the bank height (and/or more flood area) if you want more capacity to handle more than usual inflow

Most deeds probably read that the lot boundary runs to the lake's edge. So, all those lakefront lots have now tripled in size. The problem of the day is the world gives glory to everything else...and has forsaken God...His word says this of those and the nations who have forsaken God. Psalm 9:17 The wicked will return to hell, Even all the nations who forget God. Isaiah 45:6-7 6 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, 7 The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these. Amos 3:6-7 6 If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it? 7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.
