My husband and I gave security a good laugh when boarding a few years ago. I had a craft iron in my bag and it had a long handle. The shape showed on the screen and they were hesitant to ask me what it was and even more hesitant to open the bag to actually take it out. The relief on his face when he saw it wasn't a "toy" was priceless 😂😂

I don't understand why they thought that bringing a portable washing machine onto a cruise ship would be ok. They ended up getting agitated, and they were in a spin when it was decided that they were all washed up and hung out to dry.

We sailed on the Viva a little over a month ago, and we loved it. We have been on the Prima as well, and as some have pointed out, the layout is identical, but we did notice some furnishing and decor differences. The important thing we noticed is they corrected quite a few of the issues the Prima had on the ship. Less creaking and things breaking like the glass walkway on deck 8. Also, the cabin trim around the curtain pocket for the balcony door had brackets added to eliminate the creaking. If you liked the Prima, you'll like the Viva that much more.

I was on the NCL Viva in February. I totally hated it! The ship holds 4000 people and the pool fit about 50. The venues were so small, we either had to stand, or didn't get in. All the entertainment had to be booked in advance, including dining. Even though I am a Sapphire member, I was not able to book 4 of the specialty dining venues. Can you tell I didn't have a good time on this ship. I will never go on the Prima Class ships ever again. Give me the old ships any day!

Tony, just noticed you are over 1/4 Million subscribers, Congratulations! Interesting about the number of people being arrested "After" the cruise and the Police being there to meet the ship on arrival back home to make the arrests. To my mind, if possible it would be far better to get this criminal element with arrest warrants "Before" they get on the ship which would be more comforting and safer for all the innocent passengers. I know sometimes the law can't always catch people before cruises. However, maybe with the amount of info which passengers have to give the cruise company in order to make a reservation may be used to further assist law enforcement to prevent the "undesirable" from making it onboard in the first instance. Maybe you can mention this on your channel and the cruise line might get the idea. Love the videos, keep up the good work. Cheers!

We’re cruising in May! 😎 Can’t wait! We have two days in Paris and two days in London first, but then we cruise on the Norwegian Getaway May 13-22 from Southampton to Copenhagen. Then we are in Copenhagen for two extra days before coming home to Brisvegas. 😊

They have fold down ones really small. They have laundry you can do yourself machine on most carnival ships.

Actually the Carnival prohibited items says appliances with a heating element. A washer doesn't have a heating element. So it's not on the list. But Carnival reserves the right to confiscate any item regardless.

The Viva is identical to Prima. Same size of everything...the restaurants, staterooms, bars, the Haven, all exact same ships to each detail!

There is a laundry room on the Carnival Valor. It's like a mini laundromat, but the dryers didn't work too well.

There are some little table top washer for like delicates or one item. That is very interesting. I just wash a few things in the bathroom sink and send the rest out or use the self laundry, if there is one.

I have one of those portable washing machines I got free on temu only uses it once and now it's on storage. Thought about bringing it on a cruise but I'm better off using the sink like I normally do

I have watched Galveston port live a ton of times. I’ve see many people come of the ship in cuffs. They are the first to come off stepping off on to the dock.

I've seen portable washing machines on Temu, they have collapsible ones that you manually spin. I think that's more what they probably had. To me it has always seemed like more work than just going to use the paid laundry facility. So far I've always been lucky enough to be on a ship that had launderettes.

First, a question-- how do you handle cruising during hurricane season? I also live in the coastal southeast and have to deal with this every year. I know the ship will be safe, but I worry about my house, the dogs, etc. I avoid cruising in the summer/early fall for this reason but would love to know any tips for just sucking it up and going (which may just be "suck it up and go", chances are, you'll be fine). Second-- if they truly want to wash something, buy a Scrubba bag. I bought one for our cruise two cruises ago (I recommend buying direct, as lots of Amazon reviews said they got fake dupes, and they aren't that cheap), but honestly I've never used it. I bring Shout wipes (because I hate how the Tide pen smells), hand wash anything that truly needs it, and take advantage of the midweek laundry special on NCL. No reason to need a washing machine, but if you're truly wanting to do some laundry, a Scrubba bag will likely suffice. I've also been told it works great as a wet bag, so there's that.

My ex and I got called out because she had two bottles of wine in her bag, they took us aside to look further into our luggage. All was well after they confiscated her curling iron. We were allowed to board, had a great cruise,(as usual), after reclaimed the iron, then on our way. Easy peasy, I felt no humiliation whatsoever

Opinion- Cruise lines should be able to check for active warrants and prevent criminals with active warrants from being on the ships at all!

Hey, I brought a portable washing machine on my celebrity eclipse cruise last October. It was a $12 Temu purchase and it worked absolutely fine and I was not questioned at all. Mine was pretty compact. It was collapsible and I drove to the port. That’s the only reason I brought it.

Love NCL, but only their older ships. The Jade and Star are my favorites.

i think the real problem, is not that someone brought a washing machine, but most ships lack a feature / function that most people want, a self-serve laundromat.
