I transplanted some lamb's quarters to the edge of my garden & will harvest seeds to plant for next year. I dehydrate the leaves at a very low temp & then use it to sprinkle on my food like a garnish

Girl, I got this in my flower pots, on purpose. In the great depression, it was canned for rating later. I also allow one or two to go to seed, for planting later. Also great juiced

I like to add lamb's quarters, dandelion greens, and plantain leaves to my salads to beef them up. Nobody ever notices I put them in there.😉

We had loads of the lambs quarters in our garden last year in another city, but they didnt look quite like yours do, they had more jagged edges on the leaves than yours do. But we did positively identify them as lambs quarters. My husband picked a bunch, wash them up and cooked them like spinach, he said they were delicious and he did not get sick from eating them. Our neighbor didn't believe they were lambs quarters, she thought they were night shade but she looked them up too and found out we were right that they were indeed properly identified. 😊

Thank you for this video. I think I have this in my garden. I thought it was a weed so I pulled it out. When I did it smelled so good like a herb so I tried to put it back in the ground. I’ll have a closer look at it and maybe have a nibble .

Greetings and blessings from southeast LA (NOLA) and going to our camp tomorrow on the big isle. LOTS of sunshine and heat there and will be going out to look for Lamb's Quarters. Love your teachings...even though I live so very far away many "weeds" grow/sprout here too...Thanks.

And to think I've been treating them like any other invasive weed. I bet you could dry and powder them to use in smoothies, green drinks or add to soups and things that you don't want the whole leaf. Thanks for this.

This has been growing wild in my backyard for years. I discovered what they are a couple if years ago and now I don't allow them to be mowed down. In some parts of the world they are cultivated. Thanks for bringing this to people's attention. BTW, you don't have to know how to garden to grow them.

Lamb's quarters, also known as Chenopodium album, is a highly nutritious plant. Here are some of its nutritional components: 1. Vitamins: Lamb's quarters are a good source of various vitamins, including vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and folate. 2. Minerals: This plant is rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus. 3. Protein: Lamb's quarters contain a notable amount of protein, which is relatively high for a leafy green vegetable. 4. Fiber: It is a good source of dietary fiber, which is essential for healthy digestion and can help maintain bowel regularity. 5. Antioxidants: Lamb's quarters contain antioxidants like beta-carotene, vitamin C, and flavonoids, which help protect the body against oxidative stress and inflammation. 6. Omega-3 fatty acids: It contains a small amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health and inflammation reduction. It's worth noting that the nutritional composition may vary slightly depending on factors such as soil quality, growing conditions, and plant maturity. Nevertheless, lamb's quarters are generally considered to be a nutritious addition to a balanced diet.

Do you have videos on other wild plants that are edible also? And does lambs quarters have a poison look alike?

Why classify them as a weed? Seems like it would be a good idea to plant them in your garden or your yard on purpose. I don't think this would be found anywhere but in a lush, humid environment like yours but I'm not sure. I just learned of this plant the other day, while watching someone else's video. Interesting you chose to tell us about it today. Thanks, Ginne. (PS: Please put your name in the description so we can get used to how you spell it. It's important to me to spell it right and I'm pretty sure I'm not doing that. Thanks.)
