Have you used Lamotrigine? What was your experience like with it?

I take it currently, I've titrated to 150 mg a day but will probably keep titrating up. It's the only medication out of dozens that has ever helped treat my ptsd and bipolar disorder. Also is helping me feel less of an urge to abuse benzodiazepines, I have gone from taking 30-40 mg a day of valium to 5-10 mg a day in 6 months. I'm healthier mentally than I've ever been. It's amazing. I know not everyone will see these results but damn, I'm happy that I have. I lost hope for a long, long time before my doctor tried this medication

I have use Lamotrigine for six year and now they make my hair curly Is this curling of hair reversible or not? Plzzz give me answer

im on 200mgs 3 times a day for depression. I've been on it for 27yrs and I only take it because, when I don't take it I feel foggy minded I get very confused and I stumble. I feel very stupid and slow. I have children and I feel as I cant just stop with the highest dose. Of 200mgs 3times a day. I couldn't function mentally correctly. I want this medication out of me. How long would it take to come off this medication after takeing it for 27yrs for "depression"?? Im done!! Im on 200mg 3times a day. The highest dose! Pleas help.😔

Yass! Im currently self weaning off of escitalopram and lamictal because I want to stop being a f*cking hungry pig all the time.

I take it currently...300 mg/day. 100 morning and 200 evening .I feel good, no concerns. I have this treatment for more than 20 years for epilepsy..

When reading you always start with the less severe and end with the most severe. So it ends with liver failure.

I hate it. I've been stuck on a low dose for years because it's so hard to get off of. Can't wait to be done with it.

I've taken Lamotrigine for 16 years for petit mal seizures. The initial side effects were dizziness and feeling sluggish but that resolved itself after a few months. I would say the long term effect has been a. No seizures at all, b. I struggle to experience the highs and lows of mood. This is great for not feeling down or depressed but restricts my enjoyment in certain situations.

Headaches and tiredness for me. It flattens my mood, I have bipolar so that's a good thing. It takes months to get over side effects? Woah. Hope your feeling well now.

I'm currently on quetiapine xl and venlafaxine xl. Others prn such as diazepam etc. I'm fed up of the weight gain and sedation. I'm wondering if reduction in quetiapine and adding on lamotrogine cud help with reduction in side effects.

I have a acquaintance that was diagnosed with Steven Johnson syndrome after taking one dose and was airlifted to a level one trauma center to the burn unit because of this medication and I myself have been on this medication but experience no side effects

Guess I’m lucky. I’m on 600 mg and was dizzy with no coordination for literally one day and was then a ok.

I have partial epi (not confirmed by EEG) and I take 600-700mg / day of Lamotrigine (Lamitrin from GlaxoSmithkline) and I feel great. The proper dosage of Lamotrigine depands on the resilience of the body on this substance and its absorption. The same lamotrigine produced by different manufacturers can bring different results in absorption, side effects and in general effectiveness of treatment. I take for rather high dosage of lamotrigine 600-700mg / day, but is it dangerous for health? On which basis the dosage is qualified as a dangerous for health?? Are here any experts?
