Driving in the east part of the county and going to the quilt auction at the Gap Fire Sale (with interesting commentary from the auctioneer). The second quilt is blue cross-stitch on a white top.

+ChrisCrossStitcher I'd move there if I could but my husband is tied to this area (Northern VA). And from what I understand, it's getting kind of crowded up there, too. I don't want to be part of the problem, y'know? But I'll keep on visiting and dropping some $$ there for as long as I can! =)

And then you hit me with the auction!! My parents owned an antique auction company, Yorktown Auction, till my mom passed in 2003. Talk about hitting me with all the feels of home!! 😁😁😊😊😁😁

+Molly Peckham Good feels, I hope! :) There was more footage of a buggy auction but I didn't upload it because I got too many accidental closeups of people. Glad you enjoyed it, though! Auctions are so much fun. I could watch them for hours.

+Renita Rowing It was so much fun. It probably lasted two hours with a short break to sell some other things but the whole thing was fascinating to watch.

That's where I was born and spent the first seven years of my life, in Sadsburyville, PA. We moved to York (Hellam/Hallam) when I was 7. My babysitter when growing up in Sadsburyville was Amish. 😊😊

+Molly Peckham How cool is that!? I just love that area (Sadburysville/Gap). York County is really nice, too. Did your babysitter teach you any Amish words? =)

I'm originally from Dover Pa which is 20 minutes from York Co. Yes my Grandmother was Pennsylvania Dutch and taught us words. When my Grandfather and her would talk and didn't want us to know what they were talking about they would talk Dutch. My brother lives in Orlando Florida now and one of the main things his neighbors would as me if I know how to cook Pennsylvania Dutch ,,,I'd laugh and say of course I do !!
