Recip saw with a long, fine tooth Ruko blade is your friend for cutting the chassis. I like putting a hefty bolt through as well - just in case my welding on the day is a bit tarty. Lots of heavy stuff may be hanging out of that crossmember in years to come - best it doesn't fall off. :-)

Hi...i think a reciprocating saw is the easiest way is chopping through the chassis and you can never have to bigger bolts..

Hi smartiboo...i am all for doing all the jobs myself but it all depends on the skillset of the person..sometimes it makes more sense just to give it to someone else..

Hi Paul, great job as usual. My pickup has a hole (that shouldnt be there) in the panel those bolts you had to grind off pass through. Any tips for removing that panel and replacing it (YRM) has the parts but im wondering if its straightforward or a tub off job.

The bolts on the rear crossmember where they mount the body will sometimes come off but usually you will have to result to the grinder and i think you can replace the panel without taking the tub off but definately would be easier with the tub removed as you get more room to work..

I cut a hole in the old part of chassis that's coming off so I can get in and move the loom out of the way.

The two measurement points on my chassis are different to the new chassis, almost parallel from the tank mounting point to the anti roll bar mount, possibly looks like your is too? Did you still stick to 90/60 or did you move the bottom measurement across to compensate for the slight difference in the new section? Thank you.

The measurements are a rough guide so really it is just cut to fit and just offer it up...
