While working out at home. This was all I had for my quads. It was too tough to clean and press the weight on my back, then squat it. So I had to do the landmine hacksquat. Great exercise!!!

Great tutorial and explanation on landmine hack squats. Only did regular machine hack squats before, but am definitely going to be incorporating landmine hack squats and dumb hack squats into my routine for a tweak to my quad training 👍

Ha! Yeah, we're always preaching consistency, so we've got to remember to do it ourselves. 😆 Although sometimes we get carried away with the bigger videos, so we run out of time! Regarding the landmines - you can just stick the bar in a corner, but you've got to be mindful of the weight you're using so the bar doesn't dislodge. I'll usually stick to 2 45 pound plates as anything more makes it pretty unsteady when trying to get it into proper position to perform the exercise.

Another way to set it up is by straddling the bar and using a weighted dip belt and hook up that way. There is also an attachment (maybe by Titan?) that fits over the end of your bar. Either way, you don't need to load these as heavy as regular squats, and definitely not as much as the machine hack (different mechanics).

Does the placement of the legs matter? Wider VS Closer placement
@y.wirasmoyo

Not really. Narrow and normal are same. But if you put your toes out, it will hit the tear drop alot. While super wide legs like sumo position will hit glutes and hamstring alot.

Wouldn't the classic hack squat (behind the back deadlift) be easier to set up?
@BuffDudesWorkouts

Sticking a bar in the corner is pretty easy too, but that just depends on your particular set-up. I've really been preferring these lately, but the barbell hack squats are definitely a classic.

@2:40 what is that thing on the top of your rack? Also titan fitness makes a stand and a "linebacker squat" attachment that lets you rest the weight on both shoulders and cuts out the picking it off the ground part.

@@minecraftlord568 You clearly don't understand the concept. Did you see his position and feet placement? You don't stand straight up with this hack squat variation, very similar to the real hack squat machine. OBVIOUSLY pushing up and down is easier than doing so at an angle. You're actually pretty dumb. Remember to train your brain.

I squat 330 for 10 and I was struggling to get a mere 150 lbs into position for this excercise. Definitely not safe for me to load it with anything remotely challenging without some special setup. I suspect one can also lift way more with this excercise than in a normal squat, as a lot of the load will be distributed through the bar and into the floor.
@roadstar499
@roadstar499 Жыл бұрын
@@Ixnatifual you can either make a stand or buy one so bar is already loaded and in position...but i agree this way is not the best..thats why i built an attachment which is pretty much the same as a hack machine and extremely easy and safe...
