Hey everyone!
As I prepare to get back into my audiobook recording project, I thought it might be fun to share some of my own original work. As many of you know, I'm a graduate student studying and hoping to teach American history. I wrote and gave this lecture for a course that I was TAing, and while it's a little temporally removed from my main research focus (the 19th century), it covers a lot of the things I'm interested in as a would-be historian. I enjoy writing lectures because of the challenge of distilling all sorts of readings into a (hopefully) clear and easy-to-follow lecture, with the added writing challenge of trying to make it actually interesting.
If you're curious about further readings and sources, let me know! I didn't bother to catalogue most of them in the video itself, but I'd love to talk more and make recommendations if any of you are interested in learning more!
I hope you enjoy, and be on the look out for further audiobook chapters soon!
