Landscape Photography does not have to be complicated, nice images can be achieved with little time, a camera and a lens. What's most important is your subject and composition and in this video I show the making of 3 images from a location in a single take with no video editing or B-Roll. I hope you enjoy.

Like a four year old child. Running around excited, exploring and laughing. That's what landscape photography does to us and it's wonderful. Toms passion for his art is palpable in this video. The photographs are stunning and so special 👌

Your enthusiasm and fun nature have worn off on me and I leave this video smiling and wanting to go out w/camera. Your 'ease' in finding and shooting compositions in 12 min. is mind-blowing. Being able to press the shutter 3 times and walking away with award-winning images is why I have no problem calling you, Master. I have come a long way with the quality of my photography by watching and learning from your very enjoyable videos. Thx Thomas!.

Sorry Greg, not sure what lens you are using, but horrible distortion that causes motion sickness. These one take videos are horrible and unwatchable. Use your new EOS R if you are going to shoot another video. Thomas needs to get his money back on this video. Until you get a better lens, less motion would be better. It is causing motion sickness on a iPhone, I would hate to see it on a larger screen. Not sure why your one take videos are like this because all your other videos on your channel are much better.

It was a very slick seamless video. Definitely not easy presenting and photographing in just one take. It was fast paced, with a hint of danger, but those autumnal trees were every which way you turned. It was like watching Treasure Hunt with Anika Rice minus the hot pants. You’ll be too young to remember that Tom.

Thumbs up to the one-take, no B-roll approach. Drone’s eye views can be beautiful and other B roll may set the scene, but too often in my opinion they break continuity and get in the way. That said, there’s nothing wrong with cutting out parts of the single take that may be tedious. This episode worked very well.

Greg did an absolutely fantastic job of following you and the action. I really don't understand how he not only showed up where he needed to to get closeups, but the footwork involved and the silky camera movement was a wonder. Thomas, this single take format was also unbelievable and fun. You have REALLY been stretching yourself(s) to take new perspectives on story lines and shooting formats, and it's been just fun fun fun. Love it!!

Hey Thomas I just wanted to share my opinion about the one take videos. I really enjoy them and they are a lot of fun to watch, even more when I know, you have fun doing them, but I have to admit, that I like your normal videos a tad more :) For me, watching your calm, partly narrated videos, is kind of a little brake from the hustle of the real world. I watch them to calm down, to relax. And obviously this calmness gets lost in those onetakes. But as I said, I still enjoy them a lot but I just wanted to give you a different opinion on these onetakes :) Please always keep doing what you love and what gives you the most joy, because that will gives us the most joy too! Thank you for all the amazing, free content, your inspiration and the things I've learned from you.

I found this one take video easier to watch and less motion sickness inducing than the last two. There was less unnecessary movement when Thomas was simply standing still next to his tripod. I think the wide angle lens perhaps still accentuates movement like pans and tilts in an unpleasant way but it wasn't too bad. Overall I think this was a good step in the right direction. Lovely shots too, as always!

I enjoy these one-take videos! Please keep doing them in amongst the more traditional type - I think a lot of us would like to see a mix. Beautiful colours in this one. I think I prefer the 4:3 on the second shot - it has a little more depth because there's more room in the foreground for the water to move towards the viewer.

Fantastic video Thomas. Reminds me of the movie, "Russian Ark" in which they go through the Hermitage in one shot. For me, seeing you scout the location, setup the gear, frame the shot, make decisions about exposure all 'live' is extremely helpful. It's much more real than "How To" videos because it's more engaging for the viewer. Well done.
