Landscape Photography When It's -25ºc

This is my final 'On Location' landscape photography video from the Rocky Mountains in Canda and I like to think that we finish with a bang. We photograph sunrise where the dawn temperature drops to -29ºc on the drive to our location. It is -25ºc when we pull over.
Were in the field for a couple of hours and both my Canon M50 and my 5DMK IV survived and performed well, with the exception of my LCD screen having a strange lag to it.
After the cold morning we visit a wonderful cave, but the hike in was truly trecherous and there is no real way for me to show how bad it was I stopped filming. The image you see at the end is 5 bracketed images merged to HDR in Lightroom. Enjoy.

Thomas this is when you are at your best doing what you love most and taking us all along for the ride. Beautiful photos and I’m glad you got out safe. You got your mojo back, you’re not a gear head, you are a photographer and we are all glad for that.

Thomas's narratives evoke powerful sense of self ego stroking, like I can't shake the feeling that Thomas furiously and rubs one out *with intense focus* while reviewing playback of his own videos. Love the channel keep it up.

Brilliant! funny at the time I wasn't digging the cave so much either but it really is unique, especially now that a few weeks have passed. Never seen anything like it so it makes a great story. The photo of Chephren was nice as well.

I'm with you Adam, I like the intimate shots, the details of location, that go with the grand vistas. They really help tell the story. Also, to all of you, I love the work you guys have all done together on this trip. It's been a lot of fun going back and forth between channels. I caught Nicks pod cast and that was great as well, but one thing I don't think was covered in any of this was what, if anything, you guys took away from the trip in terms of learning directly from each other? I think that would be a great follow up podcast or group video. Cheers!

Stunning shots from the cave, and the mountain at the start was awesome as well. What I like is that even tho the trip does not allways produce images you like, or feel is your "domain" in taking pictures, is that you let us join in on the trip either way ;) And thats a good thing to show, that things not allways go as one might think but appreciate the journey anyway. Keep it up ;)

Always a pleasure to watch your videos.... and on this occasion bringing back memories of when I used to do crazy stuff like that... a sunrise at Stonehenge 15+ years ago at -16, climbing up to nearly 3000 meters in the Dolomite’s and sleeping in the snow ( without a tent) 20 odd years ago.... it was the analog era, and I was using a Pentax MX, completely mechanical, no batteries issues, an old analog light meter and then guesstimate the exposure compensation due to subzero temperatures....the good old days of the Kodachrome 25... This morning in London was -5... fat chance that I am going out by the way... too old for that ... Keep up the excellent work...
