An easy battery fix for your laptop battery "plugged in, not charging" Windows 10. This is a simple to follow laptop battery fix/ battery calibration video on how to fix laptop battery not charging plugged in not charging Windows 10 battery error message. And yes, laptop plugged in not charging means the same thing in my video suggested steps to get your laptop battery charging again. • Laptop Battery not cha...
A lot of people with new and old laptops get this condition with there laptop battery not charging while plugged in to AC power. These 12 steps in my video attempts to resolve this issue with your laptop battery through a free easy battery calibration procedure. Does this work all the time? No it does not. Laptop batteries have a limit life span. They can only be charged and discharge so many times before they will permanently stop charging. However, a lot of the time a simple battery calibration is all it takes to fix a laptop battery that is not charging fully and plugged in. So this is an easy video tutorial on a laptop battery not charging fix/laptop plugged in not charging Windows 10, for those who don't want to buy a new laptop battery. Especially if they don't need too. Because laptop batteries can be expensive depending on where you buy it.
These steps for fixing your laptop battery works for any laptop brand like Dell, ACER, TOSHIBA, ASUS...etc, including if you get an HP laptop battery not charging plugged in not charging error message from a HP Hewlett Packard laptop. It just happen that the laptop that I used in the video was a HP laptop if you were wondering. And it's a great HP I5 laptop too by the way. In other words, this video shows you a good laptop battery fix for all laptop brands and sizes. Its a good procedure for laptop battery reconditioning on all types of laptops.
BTW: Note that following these basic steps to fix your laptop battery to start charging again will also virtually work as well to fix the laptop battery not charging plugged in not charging Windows 8/8.1 and also laptop battery not charging plugged in not charging Windows 7 problem too.
Step 12 Explained more clearly.
One last thing. Some people have express via email or comments for a little better explanation on how to perform step 12 in my video tutorial. Hopefully this will help: Once your laptop battery is completely recharged. Use your laptop on battery power only. Allow it to drain/discharge. Plug in AC power and recharge - Allow it to drain. Plug in AC power and recharge - Allow it to drain. Do this for a total of 3x and allow your laptop battery to cool down to room temp between recharges. This will help to prevent you from getting laptop plugged in but not charging message again from Windows 10.

Hi, I have same problems recently and I've done everything I can find from the internet. The last thing I did is simply unplug the charger and drained the battery from 82% to 78%, and then I plug in again. Yes, it started to charge. Maybe you can just drain your battery 10% each time and see if it works.

YES! I tried similar but not exactly the same procedure with no results. Following your process exactly (without removing battery) took me from Plugged In, Not Charging @ 60 % to 100% in a 45 minutes. Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro about 3 years old. Thanks!

This was AMAZING Nick! Thank You!!! My computer has not been charging for about 4 months and just limped along. We went through deleting all garbage installs (especially the pre-installation software not needed). I then decided to google HP Pavilion Notebook batteries not charging and came upon your utube video. What a blessing!! I thought I needed a replacement computer or new battery but your fix was PERFECT!!! THANK YOU!!! This guy is awesome! I was like I KNOW I took care of my laptop very well. I had to wait for my new laptop charger to come in after 3 weeks but thankfully this works. What worked or me after 4 months of "plugged in, not charging" I simply turned off my laptop and disconnected my battery, then I cleaned all the dust sockets and connectors. I cleaned all the dust from the battery. Then reconnected the battery 10 minutes later.

I have the same problems with lenovo Y530. The main problem is "LAPTOP MOSTLY HAS BAD COOLING SYSTEM". Its 2019 and gaming laptop as lenovo legion Y530 still has the same issue. So you can never fix it through the system or hardware installed on laptop. The bad cooling system affects battery life and battery performance. So you will need extra laptop vacuum cooler, its only $3 but it does help... it extend the battery life and battery performance. The key is keep your laptop in cool temperature, dont play games too long.

What worked for my 2016 Dell XPS 13 was I used my older Dell power brick and Dell cord. And yes, I was searching for weeks and tried this method, along with a few other top results on Google. *Using an air duster into the charging cable male side* seems to work for a lot of folks. Word of wisdom is don't give up on finding your solution. Do accept that your laptop, battery, cable, motherboard, software, hardware, Windows, whatever, is not going to fix it for you.

FANTASTIC! It WORKED!! Thank you SO MUCH. I have an ASUS F510U and I accidentally banged my computer coming in from the back porch and killed my hard drive, replaced it and then it wouldn't run off of battery power (dying as soon as I unplugged it) and had a flashing orange "charge" light on the indicator on the left side of the laptop, an "x" over the battery icon, showed 255% when hovering over it, and showed "100%" when clicking on the battery icon but the battery worked OK before and I figured it was probably still fine and that my charge cord/ supply was good and I have HOURS in Googling and various other attempts and tried again today, saw your video and said "that's about the last thing I care to try" and IT WORKED! This is an internal battery, goofy shape, flat and spread out with 3 battery sections in an "L" shape and was a PAIN to remove fully but I did it, then followed your steps, reinstalled battery then power supply, booted up AND DONE! Again, thank you so VERY MUCH! I appreciate your time and effort in making and posting the video. Bravo and CHEERS!

You need a new battery, I got the same problem from plugging the cord in the wall and then unplugging it rite away, dont remember why i did that but it messed up my battery. It said 92% charged, fully charged in 6 min. And my brother has the same hp15 laptop, put the battery in his computer and it says 92%, not charging. Bad battery!

Then I think you need a new battery. Non-removeable battery laptops have less luck to follow steps to make it work. My windows 10 was not charging, then next day it still said not charging then all of a suddden the battery said plugged in charging. Maybe the battery had to cool down to charge again.. and it's working now.

The issue is with the upgrade of windows 10 ACPI and AC drivers, why you ask? there are many manufacturers of laptop/notebooks affected by it, from HP to ASUS and Lenovo, all having the same issue, with new equipment like mine, a 10 Month old ASUS, the amount of inquiries in all of the NET is overwhelming, so if we all have the same problem, and is only happening recently, then the common denominator is MICROSOFT windows 10 (maybe 8.1 as well) drivers. so why not asked Microsoft for a fix? if you have more that 10% charge you can use this work around, if you are at 0% you are done. manufactures should be looking at this possibility, unless they are all using the same manufacturer of batteries and many batteries are going "bad" , then look at Microsoft and make them find a solution, or your cost or returning equipment to have the battery replaced will be high. unless Microsoft is paying the cost. I noticed that you can NOT roll back the drivers, the option is grayed out in Windows 10, try and you'll see.

Guys try right clicking on the battery on your screen and there should be "Dell power manager" click on that and go to advanced change and I kinda turned it all off for some reason but when I turned it back on it started to charge . Hope this helps

I suggest taking a look at some other possibilities: Some examples would be: 1) A bad/old laptop battery needs replacing (unfortunately they don't last forever) the batteries life has come to an end. 2) A physical shorted out AC plug port on laptop or bad laptop AC wall charger or shorted out charging cable. 3) A third party battery management software/app running on your laptop is not working correctly. 4) And in some cases, even a bad AC wall outlet could be the culprit.

Windows 10 is great but the main flaws come from installing it, I just installed it and my laptop wont even turn on because my charger doesn't charge it, I think I should buy a new charger because it wasn't charging anyways

Worked for me on a Toshiba Satellite C75D laptop. Haven't tried the discharge/recharge 3X trick yet, but it is reporting 100% charge, a big jump from the 4% it was reporting just 5 minutes ago. Thanks, Nick, U da Man!!

I have this problem, i putted my ac adpter(while the laptop is on) with the battery, when i removed my ac, the laptop turned off. Is this a battery issue or the laptop issue? The battery is new
