Bob tells in more detail how he got the role of Jess Harper. He and Paul Savage one of many script writers for Laramie share stories. Then Bruce Dern is introduced and the audience is given a treat of anecdotes of what it was like to be an actor working on the different series. Video is from my private collection.

The question about how Robert Fuller got the part of Jess Harper has been repeated because he has many new fans who have never heard the story. In 2009 when this was filmed his.fan base was a 10th of what it is now. The release of Laramie on Starz brought a renewed interest in the show and Mr Fuller. His charisma and genuine love for his fans has helped grow the numbers even more. So I imagine that question will continue to be asked as long as new fans want to hear the story. Thanks for your interest and input.

Thanks so much for posting! Robert Fuller.. what an icon to any kid growing up in the 60s. He seems like such a nice person and the story about him getting the role on Larame is wonderful. A great lesson: don't settle! Keep striving until you find your dream.

He is a very nice man, loves his fans and treats them like long lost friends. Would you believe he was asked to play Little Joe Cartwright too? Turned down the role of Dr.Kelly Brackett but Jack Webb wouldn't take no for an answer. The rest is history. glad you like the video. Thanks for commenting.

Oh, wow, someone has edited my video and yes Bruce was cut out. I'm very annoyed and glad you pointed this out to me. I will try to find the original and upload the full one again and get rid of the two that are cut. Thank you. (Wish me luck!)

Could the moderator do the audience and Fuller a HUGH favor and ask a more original question than "how'd you get the part on 'Laramie'?" Fifty plus years in the business and he's been asked the same, old, unoriginal, TIRED question hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times. In the six minutes this reply (that had much more to do with Robert Fuller's career than with "Laramie") D R A G G E D O N, Fuller could have told two good anecdotes or things "Laramie" fans would love to know from EACH of its four seasons. Imagine that! In other words, eight fresh, new remarks from an engaged respondent telling / sharing them -- who might even think "hey, this guy / gal really knows 'Laramie' -- what good, informed questions. I'll try and give as good answers." . . . ANOTHER lost opportunity.
