Regarding spinach, I grow regular spinach during the spring. But when I plant my beans, I plant New Zealand Spinach. It grows great through the heat of summer and does not bolt. I really how you are not afraid to purchase things for convenience, i.e. bread, ground flour, dry cereal, taco shells. In a skillet put chopped cabbage with chopped onions, sprinkle about 1/4 cup of rice around the cabbage, place ground beef ontop then a can of tomato sauce ontop of everything, salt pepper onion and garlic powder. I pour in about a cup of water. Put a lid on it. Cook on med low for an hour. Dont touch dont look just let cook. Then its done. Its delish!!

I know it's been 5 months since you put out this video but I wanted to thank you for the reminder to not let current events create anxiety in me but let God give me the wisdom to plan. I've been struggling with that very thing. My husband and I are currently saving up to buy a place so we can homestead. In the meantime where we are living we can't garden and am very limited on space for canning so I don't feel good about not having those things and then the anxiety hits. However your reminder and my husband encouraging me to do smaller batches of canning is God's way of providing wisdom and peace. Thank you and God Bless you and your family!

It's a presto 23 and was just over £100 including shipping and import tax (all paid for at the same time, no worrying about an extra tax bill when it arrives). It came in about a week. There's quite a lot of US sellers that ship them to the UK, it's worth watching for a few weeks as the prices vary, I waited till they came down a bit though missed out when they were about £85 inc shipping.

We have all raised beds about 2 feet high and love them. I can set in a low chair and work. So much easier on the body, helps keep out some weeds, grasses, and moles. If you have older seeds, put them in a wet paper towel in a sealed baggie. Check and see if they have sprouted in a few days and then plant them if they have.

Have you tried grape seed oil in your cooking? It has a higher smoke level (by that I mean it can handle high heat) and it’s flavour doesn’t overpower your food. I use it to whip into my butter to make the butter more spreadable. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the Cavalier🐶 - she likes to watch KZfaq with me.

I learned several years ago that by cooking my collard greens in the crockpot they don’t cook down as much, producing at least two cups more depending on the size of your crockpot. I froze mine in two cup servings anyway. I also realized that when I cut corn off the cob before canning or freezing it, I should have at least kept some of the cobs to add to broth for flavor in soup and other dishes. I can’t help but think of all the corn flavor I wasted years ago. When I was married the first time, we had a 50 acre farm and grew almost everything we ate. I love watching your videos and also how your children get involved in planting seeds and planning the gardening and meals. Great job! Blessings!

So inspiring to me to cook more whole foods at home. Our 3 boys are grown and gone and we were blessed with twin grandsons who are 2 now. Now my focus is their health and well being, and I was able to learn different recipes to cook for them :) Continued blessings and so grateful I found your channel. Even young grandparents need direction and instruction :) We never stop learning :) Looking forward to growing season !!!

Hi! I did a "banana island" challenge a while back and I bought my bananas in bulk from Trader Joe's. They were much cheaper than my local big box grocer. They don't advertise that they sell them like that but if you ask they will. At the time it was less than $20 for a case, non-organic.

You should think about canning your tallow in smaller jars. With the winter cold and the size of your family I bet you would go through smaller jars of tallow fast enough that it would be safe to keep a jar on the counter by the stove. I get wanting to refrigerate a bigger jar but maybe if the tallow is right by the stove it will be easy to just grab. If a thing is too inconvenient it just won't get used.

We just moved into our new home. My intention is to have a garden and can as much stuff as I can possibly can! I’ve been canning store bought items as it demands. This weekend I managed 4 jars of blueberry/raspberry jam and 2 jars of applesauce. Was it a ton of stuff no! Was it worth my effort? YES! The jam is delicious and I’ve used the applesauce as a topper for overnight oats! I used 8 lemons that were soft. I zested them and dried the zest for my husband to use in his bar area. I squeezed them for their juices and I then placed the skins in my vinegar citrus cleanser jar. I will NOT have a huge garden in my house. Sadly I’m seriously lacking in room. However, to me ANYTHING coming from my hands and yard are a win! Thank you for continuing to inspire me to get going and “just do it”! God Bless you and your family!
