been lucky to see jeff beck.pete townsend and Guthrie all within this week,tonight saw Guthrie.truly one of the worlds greatest.astonishing technician.

I, als a Hobby Player, find it always astonishing, that Players like Guthrie actually are aware what notes they play when improvising. He not only seems to know all the scales, which - with most Players I know - are learned and remembered during playing only as abstract movement patterns so to say, but he also seems to know exactly what he is playing concerning musical theory. I have been playing guitar for 25 years, but I still struggle to be fully aware of the notes I play. that is of corse the result of thinking in Tabs instead of notes :o)
