Lawrence Lavon Linville (September 29, 1939 - April 10, 2000) was an American actor known for his portrayal of the surgeon Major Frank Burns on the television series M*A*S*H.

I learned to love Larry after I finally realized what a great actor he was to make me despise his character so much like so many others did. We will miss you Larry! Very very well done in your role. Thanks for your fantastic work!!

I met him after a speaking engagement in college. He was one of the most down to earth and affable persons I ever met.

Even though his character was the designated villian on MASH, he was one of the kindest and sweetest cast members, and everyone on the set loved him. They begged him to stay another year when he announced he was leacing, but huis mind was already made up.
