There was no particular reason. The original builder likes building unique cars. He swapped a complete Evo drivetrain into an EG hatch. He also K swapped an SRT4. He's a because I can kinda guy.

@@MXCHINO18This engine combo makes more power than the Mini engine and it much more reliable. People have turbocharged the Mini engine and have made 500whp. But the sky's the limit with the K series engines. I have friends who've made 500whp on completely stock K series. My tuners personal K series car made 1500whp.

Not at all the RPT Creation motor mounts make it a breeze. As with most motor swaps it's all the small things that can be tedious.

Riding 4 deep, I'm 215lbs, my brother's 250lbs with my wife, oldest son and only revving to 7600rpm instead of 8200 with the windows down and sun roof open I'd say it's pretty decent.

Very nice. Question: If I needed to replace the crank pulley or tensioner will I need to pull the engine back out? Looks like a very tight fit otherwise. What am I missing?

Ours is tight but when its time to change the clutch we're going to notch the frame in that area for some clearance.

I have an r56 Mini Cooper and wanna know if it’s possible for a k24 to fit with a rwd setup and everything and it’s looking more and more like no one has and that I’ll have to figure out if it’s even possible

Possible yes, but there is going to be extensive fab work. There is an LS powered RWD R56.

Sell it and buy an r56 JCW/S, then make it big turbo, easy around 320-350 hp depens on built setting. The k24swap is more an r53's thing, IMO.

It's off but not by that much. This was on the old exhasut setup cobbled together ebay header so that car was only making 200whp and at 2600lbs. With windows down moonroof open riding 3 deep it is what it is.

@@WROHRacingrespect the build and uniqueness and love the k20. But with all respect I'm pretty sure a stock jcw is around that quick if not quicker, plus a reflash can be done cheaply with big gains cause turbo. Having said that this is still more cool.

While not ideal, many 8th gen and up K series cars run similar intake setups. There are plans to route to a "cold air" setup.

It could fit and depending on your goals it's worth it. But I would take a look at Gears and gasoline youtube channel. They used a hybrid 2AR in an MR-S and were able to produce 230whp. If your looking to go turbo and build big power the K is a surefire easy platform to work with. But if you looking to build an autocross/roadrace/ street car a hybrid 2AR build would be alot easier.
