"Dance Moms" follows Abby Lee Miller and the nation's favorite tween dancers as they take on Hollywood while new auditions, new competitions, and new studios raise the stakes.
The road has not been easy for “Dance Mom’s” star Abby Lee Miller. After completing her prison sentence last year, the famed dance instructor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes. The new season of Dance Moms follows Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after-effects of cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! With the goal of putting her life, health and dance studio back together, Abby returns to where it all began - the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh.

Ava's dance just showcased her legs, not much of a "dance". Nia had a beautiful dance. Nia could have been competition for Maddy had Abby had given her the attention she gave Maddy. She was with her the longest.

its really sad that the producers / editors keep up this image of nia as the weakest member when she won her category!

They do, but I think in this case they wanted to ramp up the tension on who got first. If Jojo got third, then we already know Ava won. Because another dancer got 2nd, it was super tense. They would rather do that then be fair to Nia.

The official results are that Nia did not win her division, so she really didn't place high, Ava won both 1st in her age, and 1st overall. Jojo won only 3rd in her division, but not overall, too. I think Nia is a queen, just like her mother, but she stumbled in her dance, and her arms were not good besides the tense holds she did. She still looked beautiful though.

One of my biggest issues with Abby that happened with Nia was in the second season I believe when she said that Nia wasn’t allowed to have her own NATURAL hair and that her culture basically weighed her down. It still to this day doesn’t still well with me that Abby blatantly said that Nia was not allowed to show her culture and appreciate it because it “weighed her down” and made her look ugly. Nia is gorgeous no matter what her hair looks like, but especially when she is showing her culture

Jess and Jojo visited Abby in hospital when she had cancer, Abby went on a drive with Jojo, Jojo even revisited the ALDC and Abby did a tribute week to her dances. It just shows how success makes people change their opinions.

Not only was Jojo’s improv itself well executed, but she told a story that matched her music. She understands the narrative arc of a dance. Very, very impressive, and shows what an inate performer she is.

Im not saying you should call her beautiful either- you just shouldnt be needlessly mean about her body. Actually, you shouldnt body shame in general. Yes, a costume is meant to accentuate a dancer’s body and add to a dance, but in my creative opinion, her costume looked beautiful on her and she executed the dance wonderfully. Ava’s mother has nothing to do with you insulting a child. You want to justify your actions by referencing Abby? That women is atrocious to children and people. Just because she got famous in tv for being a bad person doesnt mean actions like her are justified. Your comment was mean spirited, there’s no way around it. You can really tell from both these performances that Nia and Jojo truly love to dance. Nia is always giving 110% on and off stage because it’s clear she has so much love for this form of expression, and puts so much feeling into every step. And Jojo has a vivid passion when she performs that she can improv an entire solo number and never falter in performance and acting. It’s crazy how Abby, a dance teacher, constantly underestimated them, especially Nia.

I feel so bad for them 😞 It was obvious that Abby had singled out her favorites. It’s just unfair. Edit: Also, Nia actually placed 1st in senior division! She did amazing! They only showed junior to cause drama, she deserved the win and credit. I feel bad that she didn’t get credit for winning with an amazing solo!

Ava’s technique is super underrated! She takes her long legs to her advantage, she bobbled a bit on her turns in the middle, but other than that she did amazing; I also love the storyline! Her faces were a bit strange, I feel like she should’ve had a more “deep pain” kind of emotion instead of anger, like she was crying because that’s what the storyline was about. She’s a beautiful dancer, I just think this wasn’t one of her best solos.

Ava's solo was amazing. It takes a really special dancer to be able to pull off choreography that intricate. Not to mention the great technique and skill, flexibility, and core strength. She deserved that win.

Nia had a costume, and jojo, so lifetime obviously planned this because they already had costumes Edit: also Abbys speech where she says JOJO and NIA did great, those two words were definitely edited

the girls always have a backup costume and solo just in case. jojo improved because she didn’t have one, but nia’s solo never knew is her backup solo that she always has prepared just in case

In abbys ultimate dance competition abby insulted all of the dancers who only wore one ballet shoe. She said it looked dumb and then you can tell what foot they are gonna turn on

This just shows me that when they get the opportunity to do beautiful lyrical dances they both can really shine. They always got cheesy type of dances and weren’t placing well. It was made out like they couldn’t do lyrical dances as they never got them but they did amazing.
