Tiger has earned the right to play in any tournament he feels he can play in. That being said, its very clear he cant play anymore at this level. Hes just so much worse than most of the field. Hes shot under par ONCE since the accident. He doesnt have 65's in him anymore, i think if he goes out and shoots a 3-4 under its the best he could hope for, and even if he does that 4 straight days he still likely loses by 10-15 strokes because if hes scoring well you can rest assured half the field is also going low. Thankfully im old enough to have watched tigers prime so nothing he does can taint his legacy for me. But golf has boomed in the last decade, and anyone whos gained interest in that time have the view that tiger is overrated and is always in trouble. We dont see many GOATS ruin their legacy by playing too long but tiger is doing it in lots of peoples eyes. The worst part is that in post round interviews he says thing like "i just need reps or time on the course". He can opt into any tournament he wants but he only wants to play in majors. Granted only majors matter at this point, but maybe opt into a few B tier tournaments so that when the next major rolls around youre in form?

I dont believe thats what colin was saying. It was probably along the lines of playing when you are physically compromised, which hurts the perception of how great you were for young fans.
