@@samanthagreen8054 I was talking about how he got sacked out said network lol. Anyways, I don't agree that everything in TV is shit, just that there is more shit available. My understanding is that Conan's staff has stayed with him to any network he goes to, and that says a lot about the integrity of both Coco and his employees. I don't know if they're union or something, but the point is that good people will do good deeds, and they should be in places of power. Of course, being naive and being good are 2 different things.

I was only 14 when this went down, but I can only imagine how important this was for television audiences. The WGA strike took out production for every prime time show, and this was before the internet became big and streaming services became a thing. Talk shows had to go on but they didn't hire any new writers bc of the strike so a lot of content produced during these couple of months wasn't as structured and a lot more loose. As a result, the strike forced Conan, Colbert, and Jon to create amazing comedy out of nothing. I wish Conan got to do more work w/ Jon and Colbert. He's been on Colbert's show a couple of times and both Jon and Colbert had cameos when Conan visited NYC a decade ago but those guys working in the same city could've produced a good amount of comedy chaos if Conan had never moved to L.A.

Conan hosted Late Night with Conan O’Brien on NBC for nearly 3,000 episodes from 1993 to 2009. So he did in fact have a network show for a very long time. Just not the Tonight Show.

@@Nothing_Israel TBS is a network on basic cable where Conan's ratings continued to slide into the crapper. Colbert and Stewart had shows on basic cable that drew millions of viewers, enough so that Colbert got called up to the big Leagues.

@@daveclark8337 I was responding to someone who indicated that Conan’s stay on network television was short lived by pointing out that he had been on network television for decades. Then you seemed to get sensitive about Stewart and Colbert being on basic cable and engaged in a pissing contest ?

@@Nothing_Israel Conan was the one who made the comment at 2:37 about being the one with a NETWORK show, saying that Cable didn't count. It's funny that 2 years later that he was dumped by the Network because his ratings sucked.
