I did this swap years ago,installing the pedals was a nightmare,the rest is easy compared to that,lol, also this is one of those jobs where if you are needing to replace your heater core and evaporator and or your carpet might as well and do it all at once,i know a lot of hard hard work but think about it,not only will you have a bitching new T5 to bang gears in you will also have nice hot air and freezing A/C.

Anyone able to offer thoughts on how long this might take total? I'm a reasonably competent, but somewhat unexperienced home mechanic. I've got a good set of tools (and access to lots more) and am doing lots of research ahead of time to try to figure out where I might have problems and try to head them off. I don't have any idea whatsoever how much time this swap might take. Any thoughts?

just so everyone knows you can also use a T5 transmission from a cylinder Mustang have to change the bell housing and Matt a pilot bearing look up the diameter on the input shaft is different. it will be where they stop Mustang just won't handle the torque of a high horsepower car but a 4-cylinder will work behind a V8

@cericj997 жыл бұрын
just wondering how much of the donor car would be needed?
@latemodelrestoration7 жыл бұрын
It really all depends on how you want to do the swap. The pedal assembly will need to be retrieved from a salvage yard. The tunnel hump kit will need to be purchased brand new unless you want to drill out the spot welds from the donor car and transfer that one over to your car. Other than that, you can purchase everything else brand new from our website, lmr.com If you don't want to go that route, pull everything T5 related from the donor car. Hope this helps. -Landan
