I had a bunch of stellar jazz vinyl titles arrive this past week, and I'm also busy prepping yet another round of auctions, so I thought I'd give you all a preview.

If you're new to my channel, what you can expect from me is a vinyl collector's approach to the jazz genre. For years, I've only collected vintage pressings and prioritized originals of Blue Note, Prestige, Savoy, Bethlehem, Riverside, New Jazz, and more classic labels. Lately, with the resurgence of the medium and more collectors coming to the space, the music industry has taken notice and prioritized putting out high quality reissues of some of the best albums ever recorded. No absolutely return the VMP. You actually probably won't have to return it, if you send them photos they will send you a replacement. - Chris

You can actually repair creased corners just like you can on a baseball cards to get a better grade. Two slightly damp sponges, two pieces of plexi glass and a couple of clamps held for 24 hours and it takes the crease out. If Folks don't mind that process. Awesome Video!!! I'm close to You. Giant step sounds good on my system, I think you just need to play with your sub on this one cuz it definitely is more bass than the average Jazz record. But it sounds great on my system with Klipsch fortes.

Seller Funkyousounds has that same McGriff album for auction as well. I need you to quit your current job and do this full time and help out with the USPS in Atlanta.

VMP has a great customer service, you won't even have to return it.

I have a bunch of Black Jazz Real gone music regular reissues and then I have The Awakening - Hear, sense and feel VMP reissue. And I will say that i think that the VMP sounds better then regular reissues. I don't know if it is just the recording that was made better or if it is the pressing. However, they all sound good!

I believe the Vinyl Me, Please is the Real Gone Reissue, just put out through VMP. The pressing, mastering, everything is exactly the same, the jacket is the ONLY difference. So to your point, it is definitely not the mastering or pressing that’s different, but it could sound better because recording could be better? Original black jazz pressings do beat out the real gone/VMP reissue, the few I’ve been able to compare

@@Valleyplant Alright! That's what i suspected. I'm just glad that it sounds good :) unfortunately originals is not really in my price range, so I am happy that the reissues exists.

@@Tapperanz it’s unfortunate how they have gone up in value the last couple years. Original black jazz used to be very inexpensive, now it’s a lot harder to find these titles for cheap

Giant Steps was recorded byTom Dowd. This explains the extra bass. Mr. Dowd used to record rock bands. He is notoriously known to be a bass afficionado.. For me.. a sound butcher. Hence your bass isues
