I read the book and found it an incredible insight into what it is like to be trans and to struggle with this realisation for so long. I am cis so I haven’t experienced this myself. You write in such a human and understandable way, I hope it will help to open a lot of people’s eyes to the struggle trans people face, both internally and externally. I'm so excited for Elliot finally getting to live the boyhood he didn't get to fully experience for most of his life. I'm beaming for him! While his book was tough to digest at times (I felt a lot of second-hand-heartbreak). As a queer person the experiences he shares are very relatable. I hope allies and identifying members of the community read it and talk about it. I dream of good change to come that is more accepting and inclusive in America.

Larry Harnisch used to work at the LA times as a copy editor. Kind of like Luther Heggs in The Ghost and mr. Chicken. He didn't have much of a job but he thought he was a big shot. I'm sure he got fired cuz he doesn't work there anymore. He's been writting a book for 20 years but haven't accomplished anything yet. Good job Larry!

I attended this and I just want to say...close to the 26min mark, the rude individual that came in and said "hey Ellen I love you" HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE AND RUDE!!! This whole event was about Elliot's transition and for someone to come in and address him by his former name...not cool at all. Idk who you were or what your intentions were but regardless, very unacceptable.

I looked up to Ellen Page. I was young but I thought I saw a confident, alt-girl. She was entering this industry prestigiously. Now knowing this person was suffering with gender dysphoria and the world pressured her to be in a sexualized mentality that hollywood and us promotes. Its sick and I'm disappointed in you El, because u literally dissappeared in my childhood and I also got SA, and was in a toxic family. You had a chance to ocntinue to inspire young girls, and now you chose the even more oppressed side. FOrcing more women to listen to u men talk about ur problems when we still have not caught up and we are regressant.

Why does she look so depressed? It's clear that she made a terrible mistake and now can't go back. She was so beautiful and talented. She had it all. And she threw it all away. She could have gone to a psychiatrist and do a psycho analysis and resolve her problems. Instead, she got involved in a cult that presented transition as the solution to all her problems. She did it and clearly, it didn't solve anything. She could use her platform to bring attention to the fact that the vast majority of people are not real trans and caution people against it. There are real transexuals and they should transition but they are exceptions. For the vast majority, there are other issues much deeper and this social contagion just harm people by bringing more confusion into their lives and prevent them of adressing the real issues that they should work on in ther lives. It's very sad what is happening right now.
