This week I built a teenytiny mini grill for when I am eating by myself so I don’t waste a lot of charcoal.
I built it from an empty fire extinguisher and some scraps.

It needs a label, styled like instructions on how to use the fire extinguisher with "In case of fire: 1. Put food on grill. 2. Cook. 3 Enjoy."

I like the nut and bolt hinge too!!! I make stuff like this and never thought of this, it is compact and has a tighter tolerance than standard type hinges~~~ Brilliant!

It needs a handle, like a mug, so you can hold and carry it, even when the lit is open and the grill is still hot.

the piece of the fire extinguisher left over looks like the perfect size to make a charcoal chimney! charcoal chimneys are perfect for starting charcoal fast without any lighter fluid.

@@FrankGraffagnino Thanks! On such a small bbq you could make the chimney just fit over the whole thing which is probably what you had in mind. That seems like it would work really well.

Awesome work. It’s great seeing women doing this sort of work. I have 2 daughters and I love being able to show them that they can do whatever they want and not have to do “women only” jobs.

I teach small engine and wood shop. The girls that come in my class always say " I can't do that ". So I stop and pull up your (LK) videos and show them. I tell them yes you can. They are so amazed at what you do so they give it a try. So much fun!

Have you heard of a charcoal chimney? Its a tool that lets you get charcoal hot before putting it into a grill. (It also helps avoid the need for stinky lighter fluid.) The remaining piece of the extinguisher housing would be perfect for making one.

On a larger BBQ, you can just put in a metal ring 5 or 6 inches high to contain a smaller amount of briquettes. This is more fun, though.

You cease to amaze me!! You must hold an engineering degree in functionality with a minor in cool design!! I gotta make one of these, might drill some air intakes so I can close the lid, though. And might tack on some skewers to the other side of the grill grate to cook things standing up, flip it over for a flat grill. INSPIRATION!!! Keep up the good work!

Are usually burn the barbecue grill at high temperature to get rid of paint and whatnot and then paint it. Just to be sure it is safe to cook with.
