i feel like they would all handle the trauma of their childhood crime fighting so differently. Like buttercup would develop major anger/aggression issues and lash out a lot and struggle to maintain friendships and relationships because she'd be so blunt and detached from other peoples emotions, bubbles would be an age regressor and collect things like squishmallows and other stuffies to replace the childhood she lost and have a hard time dealing with anything remotely physical due to ptsd flashbacks and panic attacks, and blossom would internalize a lot of it and have a lot of depression/anxiety issues and a hero's complex that she hides from the others because she's meant to be the "leader" and "dependent." idk, that's my take on it if we were to put them into a real world setting as adults having to deal with that kind of childhood trauma.

The CW: 'Puts racial stereotypes and hyper-sexualization in adult take on kids show, spending tons' Lavender Towne: 'Designs faithful and enjoyable adult representations of kids show in a couple of afternoons' I don't know about y'all, but I would pick this over the CW version any day.

Honestly what I hope they don’t do for the reboot was to make them super 1 dimensional like they did in the cartoon reboot. Blossom was not just a leader, she was charismatic, smart and done with everyone’s shit. Bubbles was not just cutesy and innocent, she had a snarky side and could get really scary. Buttercup was not just a tomboy, she was scared of spiders and had a soft side. I hope they make the PPG actual characters instead of just labels

The concept of live-action powerpuff girls terrifies me, just based on how they're treated in the show. Their cartoonish eyes and hands are entirely different from any human in the show. They weren't humans to begin with, either way. I hope the CW doesn't ignore the fact that Professor Utonium literally made them from a chemical concoction, and they aren't humans, but holy *shit* I hope they don't go all out

I think since they're supposed to feel as if they missed out on their own childhoods because they were fighting crime, that Bubbles would age regress as a sort of coping mechanism/therapy. It would make a lot of sense and would help to show the characters original style from the old show and why she still would love 'childish' things like stuffed animals and cute fashion while keeping to the theme of 'traumatised adults from what they did as kids and feeling a sense of lost childhood innocence'.

Apparently being “edgy” in Netflix’s eyes is being completely emotionless with some of the most boring colors in existence, AKA, the complete opposite of everything that the PPG stand for. My guess on how Netflix is going to handle the reboot is by having the acclaimed girls have no powers until the end of the season and just have them fight regular dudes instead of the colorful villains like Mojo Jojo and Him. TL:DR: don’t get your hopes up for this edgy Netflix reboot, or any edgy reboot for that matter Edit: It’s CW, not Netflix, but my point still stands

Honestly if they want to go the route of the girls not wanting to fight crime, they could just have the three be stressed from balancing crime fighting with school work and other responsibilities. That'd make sense. We've seen episodes of the girls getting overworked. If they're college aged I could see them wanting some time off so they can do homework or other work or just take time to de-stress.

I feel like all three of them would be interested in justice in their own different ways when they grow older I can imagine Blossom focuses on law, while Buttercup goes into the physical fighting aspect, and Bubbles get more active in charity and community service

The thing that makes me mad is like,, seeing her designs of the characters and the potential direction to take the characters presents them in a new, interesting way that still keeps the core of each character makes me think that they *could* handle it well and honor the original show, but I'd bet money they won't. More than likely, all 3 of them are going to be broody, angsty, and weirdly morally grey. It'll probably be like Winx again, where they take a peppy, upbeat character and (for whatever reason) make her character the type that would consider setting her parents on fire

Thing I don't get is why they'd feel like they lost their child hood, in the umbrella Academy it made sense because they were forced to do it and it ended up killing some of them, but it doesn't seem like the professor forces them to do it

As for the "loosing their childhood to crime fighting", in the original, the girls did get frustrated and visualized living like regular girls, but that didn't mean they resented it (It was a strict duty they grew to love like a relationship with a sibling. You get irritated and imagine life without them, but you protect, love, and care for them.) It's shown they do like putting people in their place but they would ocassionally prefer to do it their ways. (Three girls and a monster episode) I can definitely see the girls continuing a crime frighting pursuit. Bloss would be a great lawyer/prosecutor since she's logical, articulate, and rational. Bubs is all about emotions and listening so she'd make a great therapist/psychatrist. Butters is a hands on with street smarts type of gal so police, vigilante, and maybe an FBI agent would be great for her. I'd imagine her as a female version of Derek Morgan (Criminal Minds fan know).

I feel like bubbles would be a good art teacher, I don’t know why I just do. (I think she would work with like Elementary school or younger students)

Reasons that i'm terrified abt the reboot : -They may turn Blossom into a depressed lawyer, they might turn Bubbles into an emo with anger issues and Buttercup into a girl who hangs out In ally's and does drugs -They might make the mayor into a lazy boi -They might make professer into an abusive dad -They might hate eachover -sombody might die

What if they're more conflicted with fighting? Like they find a person stealing for food because they have no money so they try their best to help them with money but it's difficult because they get money from fighting so they don't have experience with regular jobs so they start wondering why Townsville is filled with criminals and villains and its more like a mission to help people who have no choice

Random script idea that I wanted to write because I can: During each act, one of the girls narrates it, because they always imagined a voice narrating their adventures like they were a cartoon. (Because.. well, they were.) So, here's my voice-over script, even though I never watched PPG: Bubbles: Here lies Townsville! A peaceful utopia.. most of the time, anyway, heh. Nothing too bad really happens anymore, now that we have a new mayor. Townsville is really pretty, too! There's the animal shelter, the dog park, that art studio down the road- Buttercup: Are you just gonna monologue about it all day? I don't think anybody needs a tour. Bubbles: Well.. it's fun to really explore it anyway! Buttercup: So take a walk instead of rambling on about it. Bubbles: ...HERE LIES TOWNSVILLE, A PEACEFUL UTOPIA THAT IS MOSTLY NORMAL ASIDE FROM- Blossom: Uh.. mind not shouting? I'm busy with work. Bubbles: ..Oh. Right. Sorry! Uhh, as I was saying... Townsville, peaceful utopia... right, us! Mostly normal, except we were superheros! We saved the town, beat up Mojo Jojo, stopped criminals, beat up Mojo Jojo, we advocated for animal rights, beat up Mojo Jojo- Buttercup: _You're_ the one who advocated for animal rights. I mean, I'm all for it, but I was at a concert and Blossom was... Blossom, from the other room: Busy with a court case! Buttercup: Right, that. ..Also, you mentioned beating up Mojo Jojo about 3 times. Bubbles: Because we did beat him up! A lot. Like a lot a lot. Like we probably did that more than we had actual relatable childhood experiences. Buttercup: I dunno, it was pretty fun, who needs a normal childhood? (I never watched PPG, please let me know what's out-of-character for them!)

I feel like Buttercup would be a pretty interesting character where she is going into the police academy and seeing success there and has trouble discussing it with her sisters who have both moved on from crime fighting.
