False accusations are common in the USA 🇺🇸 too. A girl gets mad accuses the man of hitting or rape.Ruins his reputation, loses his job, gets locked up and the women later admits to lying. No punishment for her.

As a Filipino, I can definitely say, there's discrimination within the Filipino mentality... Skin color matters and so forth.

I may have to reconsider the Philippines after watching this video. There are some really scary laws that can have a horrible impact on foreigners. Some of these laws are insane!

Hi. I like these videos with the lawyer. I work in a law office, so my interest is professional and personal. All of this video is fascinating. I like the that this attorney help with the police report. I have visited the Philippines. From my experiences, I think Foreign Nationals are treated differently, both good and bad. She is right when she says there is a language barrier and that gives the edge to the native speaker. The police don't seem to go out of their way to harass me and are often pleasant. The most unfriendliest police encounters have been in Cebu. The nicest police were in Bacolod. I think respecting their office and remaining calm is key for a good outcoming. Thank you for all the videos you do! Take care.

Thank you. This post is probably the most vitally informative of any that you have done. It is also probably provides proof positive that foreigners should not have anything to do with the women of the Philippines, nor anything to do with integration into the society. "Sweet and gracious" women looking to find financial security with a foreigner can easily feel scorned; the jealousy already pointed out as a big problem among Filipinas can result easily in the women taking revenge without having any factual basis. Another country that is more trouble than could ever be imagined. Taking your girlfriend's daughter to the beach (stigma of pedophilia) and fencing your land to have a claim against squatters (private property rights clouded) are my two favorite reasons to stay away.

So then all the single mothers in the Philippines should sue the father’s of their child? But that never happens.

Every morning while in Cebu my female friend and I would walk around passing out bags of food and some pesos to children sleeping on the streets, lucky we didn't get arrested! Oh well won't let the fear of jail stop me lol and if cheating in the Philippines was a death sentence there be bodies everywhere and fewer hungry children!! Gotta love the Pea!!

Here in the states the saying goes: Come on vacation, stay on probation. Never got into legal trouble on holiday (stateside or abroad) but a reality show called "Locked Up / Banged Up Abroad" is enough reason to stay on the good side of the law.

Hey Pea, thank you for having this Attorney on your video. Very helpful information. I look forward to visiting the Philippines someday after covid is over. What I find ironic about westerner men , especially American men worried about being arrested in the Philippines , is how easy it is to be arrested for domestic violence or a any sexual offense without any evidence. In many states an accusation becomes evidence. A man can be handcuffed, finger printed, mug shot and spend the night in jail. If there was no evidence they release you from jail but the dismissed charge remains on your record. The rationale for this draconian legal action is supposedly to teach the man that domestic violence will not be tolerated. What really is bad is if the woman later admits that she lied. The courts will not punish her because they will think its part of the “battered woman syndrome” American Men worried about arrest in the Philippines should consider they are at much more risk of jail in America. From what I have learned about a Filipinas , most are very honest and would never lie as would many American women do. In summary, an American man can be arrested for “domestic drama”in many American states. Thank you for this video and your attorney friend 🙏🏽

I've been thinking about this for months now... Even if the borders were open, I couldn't be seen with my girlfriend in public for as long as people have to wear masks. She's 5'1", and security guards always ask her how old she is (she's 25).... WIth a mask on, she looks like a minor. She laughs about it, but I tell her all the time that I won't ever go out in public with her if she doesnt have her ID on her. I've literally lost sleep over 3 of the questions you asked in this video (all of the false accusation questions). I was under the impression that foreigners are autmatically guilty and can be left to rot in jail just because a Filipino said they did something. Thank you so much

If this is the case, foreigners should stay out of the Philippines because they are being taken advantage of by the Filipinas and the government as well. The laws are drawn against foreigners.

Very, very wrong about police bias towards foreigners. I'm sure she's just speaking from her own experience at representing foreigners. I bought a motorcycle when I lived in Makati 15 years ago and it became almost impossible to get from point A to point B without being pulled over and hit up for 1000 or 2000 pesos (bribe) for no reason. Other than the reason being that I was white. I was once going down a street ( 2 way street) with many other cars and motorcycles moving in the same direction and the "reason" I was pulled over was "going the wrong way down a one-way street." LOL. That one cost me 2000 on the spot. It became necessary to look a block ahead for police and then go around the block to avoid them. I ended up just selling the motorcycle and going back to using taxis. This story is just one of many stories I could relate.

An excellent topic Pea! You do come up with some exciting ones! Personally, my bad days are over, I am 61 and not very mobile so I would not too well in a fight. In terms of driving: I have driven n both the UK and USA for many years, but the thought of driving in the Philippines (especially in Manila) horrifies me! I was not aware of the economic abuse laws! I have learned something new; thank you. Living permanently in the Philippines is much more difficult than I thought. The lockdown problems in England UK and the subsequent banning of British in mania and cebu, has given me along time to think. The deal about an adult being with a minor scares me also because as you know its difficult for a guy who is older to tell the difference between a 17 and an 18-year-old Filipina. as you know many young Filipinas trick older men to come to the Filipinos with fake birth certificates. I myself was told on facebook a young lady told me she was 21, when I got there I found she was 17 and her parents blackmailed me to get money! Be careful guys the country is so corrupt its ridiculous! They will stab you in the back and do anything to con you out of money and Filipinas are known as the worst scammers in the world,. they are rated higher than Nigeria or Ghana! Although the Philippine Universities are very low standard, the women are intelligent con artists! (scammers). Incidentally, there is nothing new about scamming. In the UK and USA; we call it Grifting. there are two main types of scams; the short con and the long con. The long con usually involves several members and is very well planned out beforehand. An example of a short con would be a Filipina obtaining money from you by deception i.e for a vigil for a dead grandmother who has died many times lol! Or for school fees that do not exist. Hospital bills, along with fake pics of relatives in hospital beds. the list goes on and on. the sad thing is their parents coach them into doing it! Also don't think an older ofw is less likely " to take you to the cleaners"; my niece employed two Filipinas in her mansion to look after the kids. I won't point the finger but let us just say they were less than honest, although they are hard-workers.

Foreign gentlemen, it doesn’t matter you’re not looking for trouble, troubles are seeking you 😇 But keep being positive, a fair skinned and blue eyed Christian is not illegal here. American fellows should not complain of their legal rights in the U.S. - you have at least the right to own a home (a land with a house) and have a job, something generally you don’t have in the Philippines 😎
