Fishing bro's. I cannot thank you enough for taking me into your world of fishing. Into the docks or wherever it may be I wish I was a little bit younger and or at least lived nearer the bodies of water you fish. I first learned flippin rubber worms for largemouth bass in small country ponds in northeast San Diego County about 40 years ago. So getting the opportunity to have ya all share your fishing has been a huge treat for me I get hours of it daily. So thank you. BP O'side, North San Diego County, California

Rarely do I use bait, I'm an artificial person myself. However, from time to time I will use live shrimp, piggy or pin perch. With three of us fishing, we'll go through 15 dozen shrimp and 5 dozen perch on five hours. Usually that translates into 75 or so fish. It can definitely get pricey, but we get a lot of fish and have non-stop action.

New to this channel just yesterday, and it immediately became the second of only two fishing channels that I'll be following religiously. Worth every minute. Great communicator! Entertaining and educational. Very interesting that I've yet to watch on of your videos where you use a net to retrieve fish, but this particular video was insane -- jumping in to chase the fish, incredible! Would not have even occurred to me. Glad you're on here and keep up the great work!

Hey Lawson, I just really wanted to give you props for a sensational video. Now I know that most avid fisherman understand a lot of this information, especially those who live or fish a lot in Florida. Nevertheless, your vid was extremely interesting to watch, well made, and informative. You also have a real knack for doing these instructional or informational videos so please do more if you have the time because they are very helpful. FYI, I live on Hilton Head Island, near the SC-GA border and this method works well up here too. The only problem is that we do not have nearly the number of species that you guys have, especially quality species of game fish, plus our water is much cloudier. As far as inshore fishing goes, we're pretty much limited to redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and Sheepshead, and during the summer months bait fishing tends to attract the undesirables, such as hard heads, pinfish, puffer fish, Stingrays and baby sharks. I used to live just south of Boca Raton, so I'm well acquainted with South Florida fishing and love it. I'll never forget the morning I was fishing on a sandbar in skinny water near some mangroves and I hooked up on a big Barracuda with my saltwater fly rod totally by surprise, as I was primarily targeting Snook. That was one hell of a fight. Again, please keep making these instructional videos because you have the knowledge and do a great job. Hope to see you on the water next time I'm down that way. do you ever make it up towards the Carolina Lowcountry?

Pro tip: Use a dip net to get your live shrimp out of the well. Putting your hand and in there can contaminate the water and cause the shrimp not to live as long.

Pear Fishing You’re saying you cannot contaminate water in a bait well? Unless your hands are perfectly clean, you certainly can. Ask a professional captain who deals with live bait on every trip like Capt. Mike of Reel Reports. One of his pet peeves is customers making his live bait sick by using their bare hands instead of the dip nets he provides. Go ahead, ask him. He’s cool guy and usually answers questions in his comments sections. m.kzfaq.info

@@danl.909 don't need to ask a 'professional' learn from experience yourself been using live shrimp since I can remember as long as you don't have nothing on your hands the shrimp is fine you don't need a so called professional to tell you that
@danl.909
@danl.909 5 жыл бұрын
onedeep160 I said if your hands are perfectly clean it’s no problem, but you cannot be sure of that unless you wash them thoroughly in salt water every few minutes. Why go to all that trouble? Why even risk it when you can GUARANTEE you aren’t fouling your bait well by simply using a dip net? BTW, I bet I’ve been using live bait a lot longer than you. I started live bait fishing in the ‘70s. Still, a professional captain who has been doing it practically every day for years knows more than I do, or you.

If you were to compare the stabbing rate of those saltwater catfish to the searobin here in the Northeast, you'd be amazed. Solid skull like catfish, but its head is very, very rough like the strongest sandpapers in the world and rough pavements you'd never want to slip on. Sharp prickers around the gills that can easily puncture areas on the palm of your hand. And as for the way that snapper hurt you, yellow perch could do just as big of a job, or possibly even bigger.
